Webflow journey success so far

As some members here already know, I've been working with Webflow consistently for around 3-4 years, and only starting in 2024 did I begin to see some tangible success.

Here are some of the achievements I've accomplished so far:

1. Switched from agency to personal brand
Originally, I thought opening an agency was a good way to go, but I quickly found out that I bit off more than I could chew. Statistically, most clients tend to prefer working with freelancers anyway, so I shifted to a personal brand.

2. Landed my first big $xxxx project on LinkedIn as a personal brand
This was actually my New Year's resolution, and I checked it off in January 🤣

3. Grew my LinkedIn and met some cool peeps
Although many find it cringe (and I do agree to some extent), LinkedIn actually enabled me to meet some talented individuals who taught me a lot of things I can do to improve in Webflow. I think the most notable advice I got was using GSAP inside Webflow.

4. Got accepted into the official Webflow expert program
This is something you have to manually apply for. You have to have the highest paid plan active and also provide them with at least 3 real client project websites. I got denied the first time, but starting in 2024, I officially became a Webflow partner, which definitely helped me land more jobs.

5. UpWork success
Recently, I started using UpWork as well and luckily got hired by a guy to do some simple pop-up stuff on his Webflow website. From that point on, I was hired another 7 times and made close to $1k now.

Here's screenshot of my feedbacks so far:

I can't judge since I never really learned Wordpress.
Webflow has a steep learning curve, but it's totally worth it as it offers WAAY more customization in terms of design than Wordpress.

I would say it's actually quite easy to learn, but hard to master. That's why freelancer sites are flooded with so called Webflow devs, but most of them are not really that good at it.

Webflow is much harder.
You have to actually know the code.
HTML/CSS

Personally as a guy who knows perfect HTML/CSS I tried webflow and idk.. i don't really like it.
For a simple HTML page is ok. But for complex apps and custom needs it's better to write it with real code.

- its free
- its easily integrated with lots of different apps APIS
- it's free
- it looks cool to the normal person xd

I disagree. There are already many services, such as Wized and Xano, that allow you to build custom, complex web apps within Webflow. I do agree that it's not the best solution and that more serious companies will definitely opt to hard code, of course, but I'm just saying it's not impossible.

Webflow also allows custom code, so by being able to utilize JavaScript libraries, for example, you're already able to replicate even the most complex front-end websites. I can promise you that if you give me any cool website feature done with code, I can recreate it 1:1 in Webflow, using no-code or with custom code if needed. The point here is that you'll be able to replicate something you thought wasn't possible and still get the benefits of Webflow being a visual editor rather than code.

However, the main selling point of Webflow is not 'custom complex apps' but its ease of use for clients. Companies often have to hire entire teams to handle their website needs (if hard coded or done in WP), even the simplest ones. With Webflow, they can usually skip that part and save money in the long run.

Well yes.. personally im not selling my services so thats why probably i prefer to hard code everything because im doing the projects just for myself and my business.
