Here is a list of free APIs you may use in your websites, apps, and software.
https://github.com/LNodesL/public-apis
I have gone here multiple times over the years to pick out small APIs to build tools with. There are many topics and within each category you'll find a long list of integrations. Some do require API keys while others are completely keyless & public.
Here is an example of URL shortening APIs listed in that git repo:
If my Git is ever down you can access the public apis list here too:
Code https://github.com/public-apis/public-apis
Thanks for the API links. Much appreciated.

No problem, kudos to the original creator of the repo that I forked.
hope this helps people come up with some ideas. sometimes I just go to this repo, pick something for the sole sake of making a new software or app or website, just for fun.

AFAIK HTTP/3 is basically similar to normal https or HTTP/2 but it handles encryption differently, all in one instead of having 2 separate steps for how data is encrypted on route.

take this with a grain of salt, I've been in web dev for years and have never once had to think about http2 vs 3, and it's not something that most people have to ever consider.
If you are making your own web browser or software then yes, you would need to consider 2 vs 3 but most developers do not need to give it much attention unless they're curious or want to get into that field.
