So I'm using the HTB Academy Discord and that's great but its taking me 3 months to do a module in CPTS path and I'm thinking if someone who has already completed the path could mentor me to help me like when I get stuck one on one that would be perfect. I just need someone to get me going with the basics not someone who's just gonna give me the answer to everything.

Basically, I'm looking for someone who can help me work through the learning path faster while still helping me get the skills?

A study group would not be bad either if the person doesn't want to help or if I can't afford it. Either one would really work.

I give preference to someone who wants has worked through all of the job-role paths and is a HTB fanatic.

I'm already part of one Discord study group and I decided I have the official discord and that other study group. But the thing is if I could get people together to have one more that would be golden. I mean it would really make a lot of sense from a practical standpoint because then if no one is available in one group I could do another group temporarily during those rare times when it takes forever to solve a challenge. Obviously, its good to bang your head against the wall for a while to solve shit or else you don't learn.

I know how to use Google and I use ChatGPT all the time for hints. I just don't want to directly look up the answer because I want to figure it out, but I use Google all the time to read about a related subject or to find hints.

Also, some of the people in the official HTB Discord are assholes so I'm looking for a backup in case the people that aren't assholes aren't available. I found one other study group that's in a different Discord so I know this stuff exists.

But the thing is I know how to google my way to finding an answer. The issue is I don't just want to look at a walkthrough because that just gives you the answer directly and I know you don't learn to hack by watching other people hack so I use google to find other relevant information to help solve it.

But there are people on the HTB Discord where I present something I have tried and researched and they essentially laugh at me and make fun of me and they do it in a very subtle way but I see through it. Not everyone on that Discord is like that but problem is I have to wait until the non-assholes are available which is such a chore.

But you don't need to patronize to people that are trying to form study groups. People on HF form study groups all the time. People do it on Reddit. And no one complains when they do it but for some reason your complaining when I do it. Don't be an asshole.

I see why this seems like a good idea on the surface, but I feel like it is just pointless if you know how to use the internet.
