Yeah, unfortunately, you kind of set yourself up for failure. Does this make it okay that OP scammed, if he did? Absolutely not. But they have designed the system so that you can dispute.

Without a contract on site, I do not think they can help, however, I am sure you can post the proof here so that other heed your warning.

Next time deal with an on site contract so that you can file a dispute in case something goes wrong, and then you can also use middlemen just-in-case.
