As of May 5th, Sony will require all gamers that player Helldivers 2 to be required to connect a PlayStation Network account to their steam.
They claim that it will play a critical role in protecting players and making banning users easier.
What are your thoughts on this?
I personally think it's kind of trash because I don't have a PSN account and now I have to go make one and have another account to keep track of if I want to play. EA does the same thing and it's frustrating.
They're already implementing it in other countries. Sony doens't allow Ukraine players to register PSN account without buying a playstation. They've also restricted any non-psn countries from buying the game.
Just another greedy corporate taking advantages.

Thx guys. appreciate the heads up
Yeah I don't like the decision they have made here. I hope they atleast refund every single person that has bought the game and who resides in a country that aren't able to play now.
Dealing with depression can be tough. Tougher than most people know. But keep your head up high, there will always be hope.

Not refunding people that the took from would be the worst decision ever. I've already heard from a group of people that they'll never play again just because of this poor decision.
I heard they rolled it back after the backlash. No longer need a Sony account connected.
don't worry, we are so back now
When this was announced, considering I live in a country where you can't make PSN account, thought I was screwed.
but me and couple of friends thought we should wait and see what is going to happen.
Glad I did.
Hopefully they reinstate the game on Steam again (not sure whether to decision to remove it from countries was Steam decision or Arrowhead decision) and this whole fiasco is over.
also hope the reviews recover.
This game has potential, but they need decent updates to keep the players consumed in the game, I know people who already have unlocked everything in the game.
Glad to see they ended up going back on this. I do think the outcry was a bit much, but I do also understand to a degree and think it should be as it was.
