The Purge (television series)

The wife and I have been watching the television series of The Purge. It's only 2 seasons. It came out back in 2018 and was cancelled by 2020.

The first season is really great. The second season I'm having trouble caring.

I do like some of the purge movies and I'm wondering, if there was a purge yearly, would you participate?

I would rather hide than risk all those years of programming ;(

I didn't watch the movies, I wasn't aware that there was a series too, not my jam.

I wouldn't feel confortable watching this while there is a high chance of sexual assault scenes or rape, as everything is allowed I guess ...

I don't think there are any sexual assault scenes in any of the movies. Mostly torture and killing. There's some groups who rob banks.

Softer than I thought, I may watch them so

Translation:

I don't think I would be able to participate in a purge; I don't feel comfortable with the idea of killing. However, I would be willing to do it if it were useful, like for the death penalty, but in a more considered manner.

Organ retrieval for transplants would help alleviate the burden on hospital care services that are overwhelmed and free up hospital beds. Of course, it would save lives, allow people to return to work, see their families, and continue living. Organ transplantation is not always easy; when a person dies, there are many factors that affect the success, including compatibility with nearby patients and the condition of the organs (if there was an accident, they might be damaged and thus unusable, even if the person is a donor).

If we had an excess of organs, we could sell criminals to pharmaceutical laboratories for drug testing. This would give a significant competitive advantage to our French laboratories such as Sanofi, Bayer, and AstraZeneca.

But I feel like I'm getting off topic, haha
I like the purge series. You should. heck out the new Texas Chainsaw massacre on Netflix.

Is that a new series or are you referring to the movie that came out a couple years ago on Netflix?

The movie. It came out a couple of years ago.

Yeah I saw it back when it first came out, it was a little underwhelming. A bunch of woke kids buying a town, and leatherface didn't like it. They are supposed to be making a sequel to it called Texas Chainsaw Legacy.

I didn't know about the sequel but I liked it. I might check out the purge later. I'm currently watching Bones and All on Amazon Prime Video.
I believe I have watched the movies and enjoyed most of them, to be specific first 3.

I usually get turned off when a show gets axed, did it have a decent ending for the second season at least? perhaps I will give it a shot.

I haven't finished the second season yet. I've been too busy lately. I thought the first purge sucked. It was really lackluster. Especially considering the time, there hadn't been a movie like that out yet. To my knowledge. So it got everyone thinking about a life where for 12 hours everything was legal. Then the movie comes out and it was so boring. The second one was good I think. I kinda stepped away from the movies after the election year one. Forever purge was good.

First and second felt like stories, imo second was better but first is the reason a second was made.
third part had some sort of story going on especially with protagonist from 2nd showing up, I liked how it started but later in the movie it felt rushed.

Never watched the 4th one (Forever Purge). Saw clips here and there but if you say it's good, might give it a chance.
Same for the show, I hate starting shows that I know got axed but it's what it's I guess.

There's a lot of older shows that I watch knowing they have been axed, but sometimes they are worth the experience. I liked the first season. You never know, they may bring it back someday.

Well, sometimes it's better to put somethings to rest.
For example, I recently picked up/revisited couple of older shows (Lost / Person of Interest / TWD).

The first few seasons were something else, lemme tell you that.
but rarely do I see a TV show get over 4 seasons without going ape-shit at some point.

Person of Interest sounded CRAZY when it was made, now with AI advancement, it actually looks very possible.
TWD first few seasons were hard, as the story went on, it felt like it became more like a Mob TV show with all factions fighting all the time, it went from survival to "GTA SA Turf Wars" lmao.
I loved Lost, but the conclusion was OK at best, could have made it way better if they picked a darker path imo.

So ye, some shows, especially shows that keep going with same characters / plot should probably be laid to rest when it starts getting boring.
on the other hand, shows like True Detective/Fargo/Black Mirror are more likely to take off, especially if the first season performs well.

I remember Fargo and True Detective, they had GREAT first seasons, later seasons were good, but they weren't close from first season.

If The Purge has that quality of first season, then I look forward to watching it, if not then I would probably drop it midway.
