Wasn't a huge fan of #1, but 2/3 were great! First episode slow in Solo Leveling but glad I kept going. I think Solo Leveling will win #1 heh.

I mean there's absolutely no argument that AOTY will be anything but Frieren.

It is extremely popular in the US and Japan.

On MAL it sits at rank 1 with a 0.24 point lead, every other top show has a variance of 0.01-0.02.

Any time a new show takes rank 1, basement-dwelling mouthbreathing retard FMAB fans 1-star spam to remove it yet Frieren still sits strong.



Solo Leveling has to be the biggest pile of hype garbage I've watched all year. The story is dog water. I was lead to believe this would be release SAO first few episodes of hype and instead it's a shitty isekai type show. The hype probably comes from all the source material fans. So far Korean Manhwa adaptations have been like Tony Snell vs Jazz for me.

I can't speak on any of the airing shows since I like to binge watch them.



My personal favorite this year is Apothecary Diaries. 10/10 show and I'm very excited for season 2 release in 2025, praying for another 24 ep.

Completely agree with you. The story for Solo Leveling wasn't really all that there. It was kinda lame. But I did enjoy watching it!

I loved solo leveling, story may not be the greatest, and the characters can be cringe but I ended up reading all 8 books, and it really is going to get so much better. I'm hoping they improve it a bit more though.

It was good, but it absolutely wasn't great. But a lot of people also think that Solo Leveling is also good. The story is just NOT there though.

Which Isekais have you watched? I liked Building my life in another world. It was decent. 🙂

Solo Leveling is an example of when a fanbase overhypes an anime, even if it's good, so much that when you watch it, it feels underwhelming.

I have yet to watch Solo Leveling and Wistoria - I was waiting for both series to be finished. With Fall 2024 anime around the corner, we have Re;Zero and Uzumaki which both have big hype surrounding them, so either of those will be great competitors.

I haven't fully watched Solo Leveling or Wistoria either to be honest. I hate that I have to wait a week for an episode to air and then I forget about it completely. 😭
