I love voice chatting and I want to apologize for the removal of the Discord server. I really enjoyed our conversations, and I’d love for you to create a new server. If possible, could you disable the text channels so we can focus on voice chat during our conversations? That would be amazing!

Yeah I dont think having a voice chat drives traffic away from the site, it actually probably boosts traffic and "Word of mouth" conversations to improve engagement across the board.

+1 from me! I'd love to sit in a VC and have a chat with some HF members. It would be cool. Set a text channel to view only so you can post updates/downtime for HF in there. On site communication shouldn't be affected by this :)

Pretty sure we had a Discord server for 2-3 years. Too much hassle to maintain especially when it has no quality or monetizing opportunities. You are suggesting we add it back just so 3-4 members can voice chat with each other.

A better option would be to add VC to the on-site convo as someone above suggested. Fuck Discord especially related to this forum.

How can you say it doesn't drive traffic from the site? Of course it does, the only way people find out about the discord server is mainly via the site, if everyone is speaking via discord it's going to run down the site...

Conversating now via "Convo's" is like "discord" in a way without the VC, but lets be honest even when the discord was around so many people tried scamming, spamming or all the other bullshit, legit requires so much more moderation than the forum actually does I feel.

Finally this suggestion was posted. I've been wanting to post this myself for quite a while now, but because of all the attempts at driving more activity to HF (which everyone wants of course) I put it on hold and well, I also didn't want to get yelled at lol.

But it had to be made eventually, so shoutout again ailo , and no you didn't slur the thread lol.

Back when we had the HF Discord, it did drive more activity to Convo, I remember it well. And they were daily VC's too, not just once in a while. I remember every time I'd scroll my server list, I'd always be checking to see if there was an HF VC at the time. So I think it goes without saying I'm all for this. +1

3-4 members was when the VC just started, and then people would notice one is happening and they'd all shortly start funneling in after. By the time people are done/tired and leaving the VC, we could've had around 15 people in there.

That's the thing, there would be no chat option this time around. Also, back when we had the VC, there was almost never random members joining and trying to get people to buy something. I actually don't really ever recall that happening. The Discord scams mainly come from users randomly dropping theirs on a request-for-hacking type of thread, and OP will take it there not knowing he's about to get scammed.

Exactly this. We don't want to drive traffic away so we definitely suggested that there be no text channels available. Maybe one so that Omni can posts updates and downtime. 95% of us use Discord in some way. Also so that nobody can spam or try and sell something.

Bold of you too assume it would drive traffic away from HF lol. May I ask what traffic? the 5-30 active people in convo? Its a voice channel so not sure how thats keeping people from posting here. If anything like I stated, the word of mouth conversation start happening and people start exploring/sharing threads to refer to the topics they are chatting about. I guess I am bold to assume it would increase traffic as well, call me an optimist but until the stats are proven we are just theoretical on the traffic ideas.
