What was the most outrageous lie you believed as a child? I did believe I might find another world in a wardrobe.

Mum would say chant these prayers for this and that. Bogus as fuck 😭 (Oct 4, 2024 02:51 AM)DashPHP Wrote: 😂😂😂 hmm I wonder if Narnia had anything to do with that.. Aww that's hard going. I think I used to fall asleep while walking down the stairs in our old house. I thought that I might have floated down the stairs. I still kinda think I did float to the bottom... I've also fallen down these stairs a handful of times when I was a kid 🤣🤣

What I found was putting in the hard work and building something rather than relying on prayers is where I started to see success. Reflecting back, I can see religion was used as a coping mechanism because the financial struggles my parents constantly faced as a middle class family in an expensive city and with lack of education, really relied on their prayers. I don’t pray or believe in religion anymore but I believe in working hard and making somethin for yourself. I believed it every time and they literally pointed to a different house every time, LOL. I should have tried that when my youngest was throwing empty soda cans at my head when I was driving.
My dad told me I would catch more fish if I got good grades….what a load of crap.
