I pay $40 a month for a membership at a car wash, and get unlimited washes. I usually wash my truck at least once a day at the end of my shift. Today I just so happened to work, and was in some very dirty areas. I ended up going through the car wash three separate times. How many times do you wash your vehicle?

I have a wash membership too, I take it to the wash 2-3 times a week because it's so quick and I like to have a clean car when I put the top down.

Sometimes I regret paying so much for a membership, but that's why I use it a lot.

I used to only pay $30/month, but then they added some sort of "titanium coating" that is supposed to help keep the shine. I'm a sucker for upsell

There's no way they are making money off me. I'm curious to know how much it cost the car wash to send one vehicle through their machine.

I feel the same I mean if I go through there 6 times is $20 still worth for them? I would imagine some of those chemicals are expensive or at least the disposal generally is expensive.

Well they'll be getting business rates on everything and buying in bulk - I've got a friend that has investments in these sorta businesses and from what I've heard, they are surprisingly quite high margin.

Saying that though, none of them have monthly memberships in the UK and end up charging like £6-8 for a 30 second wash and on a lovely sunny summers day, you'll see a queue of like 5-10 cars repeatedly hahah.

I think they rent the land very cheap (cuz they can be put pretty much anywhere) and maintenance is cheap too because these are normally quite reliable machines.

I would think that they probably do make a lot of money. The place I go to literally has five locations in this city which has a population of 120,000 people. Each establishment has at least 3-5 active employees at the time.

The car wash I go to has nice vacuums too. I like pulling out and backing into a spot to use their vacuum. Keeps the truck clean.
