Do you still use brute-force

how relevant is brute-force nowadays ?
Depends on the context and protocol you wana brute force. Its probably the easiest no brainer , as long as you got a high end specs and a solid wordlist.

Depends on what it is. If it's online password cracking, definitely not.

Bruteforce with a wordlist?
Eh, its only relevant to do on the side imo
I still use brute force sometimes, but as other have said before me, it depends on a few things.

For example, WordPress security has a feature that locks an account after X amount of failed attempts, and will not tell you if a username is correct or not, however this isn't enabled by default and its relatively easy to get someones WP username.

If the owner of the WP website has not enabled these features then a bruteforce is possible, otherwise it may still be possible but will take an infinite amount of time longer so finding another method is recommended.

Its important to find out what version of software is running on a website before you attempt any type of attack - that will give you an idea of what vulnerabilities you can exploit, that's where I would start. Recon is very important and should be your main priority.
