So the wife made the mistake of leaving me (a massive Christmas fanatic) alone in Costco.... I spent over $850 on decorations.

Aye if it makes you and your family happy then it's a worthy expense!
Think it makes it better for everyone in the household if the man of the house is fully onboard with holiday celebrations tbf so I'm sure your little ones will love it just as much as you :D (Nov 29, 2024 11:30 PM)Bastille Wrote: If I had enough space to store the decoration I would probably spend many hours decorating, it's always pleasant walking outside during christmas and seeing decorated houses I'm far too lazy to do the outside, I did it many years ago at our old home and it's a massive fuck around. I always plan big and shoot myself in the foot. See below.

That's a wild guess. The tree and it's decorations is about a grand minimum. A few lemax pieces too. See below. This is fucking beautiful. I love seeing decorated houses, but this one would probably leave me with a feeling of awe for the sheer size and dedication. And I'm personally of the opinion that the purpose of life is essentially these moments. You spent $850 on decorations? You've just positively impacted people you don't know, your kids, your wife etc. Saying this because I also know people who think its bullshit to do stuff like this and see it as a waste of time.
Gonna be a rough Christmas this year for us, but I’m happy to see you're doing good ! :)
