What will be the next big event after COVID-19?

I was just thinking how COVID-19 changed the world. I and many others tend to see the world as pre covid and post covid.

It's like a line that draws an era.

What will be the next big event as big or even bigger than COVID-19? Because I don't think there has been any bigger than covid.
I would say the Black Plague was definitely bigger and worse than Covid by a very long shot, also the Spanish Flu from 1918-1920.

In terms of modern day, I don't see anything being worse than Covid with the advanced medical practices we have today.
Only other major things that I can think of has been the AIDS pandemic, Swine Flu (H1N1), and Ebola.

Worldwide Internet blackout would be my bet.

That was supposed to happen in the year 2000.

Two world wars and the Great Depression beg to differ. The Great Recession of 2008 was also pretty damn bad.
Hmmm, good question. I think outside of another pandemic, I think one of the biggest things that could happen would be some sort of widespread power or Internet outage. It could be from a solar storm, cyber attacks, or even carefully places missile strikes (but this one is unlikely in my opinion). Given the recent (or just recently publicized) news about China infiltrating the US telecoms systems, it really shows how vulnerable something like the electrical grid or internet systems is.
pretty much everything is just going wrong atm, assuming will just get worse
What is it, like every 100 years when a new "plague" or something happens? Plague — 1720-1722, Cholera — 1817, Spanish flu — 1918-1919, Coronavirus — 2019-2020.

Guess we will see if we are still alive around ~2100 time frame.

Otherwise I agree with Undead, whenever the whole internet crashes

Another disease that will kill thousands , may be after 100 years or so

I been warning about bird flu for a good while now, even going back months and it is continuously becoming more and more concerning with human cases increasing.

I think we will likely see an outbreak in coming months or even years.
Don't forget about the threat of World War 3 with everything that's going on in the world. As much as I'd like to hope that things will be okay, we can't simply disregard the possibility of what's to come if things continue on the way they are. Who knows, maybe after we settle down that we'll make first contact with the Vulcans. Live long and prosper.

Interesting. I never payed attention to this but it does seem like a consistent pattern. Which is fascinating.
My guess would be climate lockdowns, or further restrictions to citizens under the guise of global warming/climate issues.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Every time some global "threat" happens, more restrictions will be imposed on people. In my own country, during the pandemic, they forced people to use special "Vaccine Passports" to even visit stores. Most people here conformed and submitted to the rules almost with pride. It was actually frightening to see so many obedient people.
I think World War 3 is worse. I actually enjoyed lockdown lowkey as an introvert
The way that EU countries and the US wage their proxy war with Russia through Ukraine, WW3 will ensue.
