Hey guys and girls,
I am not sure this is the right place for this thread, but I need some help.
I am helping a friend that started auto-import/export and he needs to know which cars are wanted by the population in my country. Now, we have 2-3 websites that you can advertise (buy/sell) on, but I assume there is no way to get their data without any hacks or inside help.
So what would the next step be in order to see which brands are people searching for? I thought google trends, but I am not sure it is accurate or even if I am setting the filters as they should.
Any help is appreciated :)
In your case AI connected to the internet is the best thing for this,
you're asking about identifying trends, and sorting data... That's what you're asking.
This is the most basic job of an analyst, which makes me realize that you don't really know the basics yet.
You're gonna have to start at the bottom like learning what's trending on social media and stuff like that.
But literally, bruv, ask google what the top 10 best selling cars are in 2025.
Then ask chatgpt, super basic stuff.
Good luck.

Cheers bro, thanks for the help :) I definitely am not, I am actually into cloud but as it goes with "IT guys" if you are in IT, you have to know everything as you are the neighborhood "hacker"
Cheerio :)

You'd want to enter those competitor sites into Semrush or Ahrefs, these tools will give you the keywords they're targeting/ranking for. PM me with the sites as well as the country, and ill give you an export of the keywords.
There's no shame in it. I've been lurking the internet for a long long time.
You should only stop learning when you're dead.
Car sales are funny because there aren't that many new cars each year, so your data set is small and you can keep track of it manually if you have to.
But yes, just google trends with API access can power your whole app, basically any search engine API or internet connected AI API will do.
Filters should be basic, most mentions ordered ascending by date.
Cars have 2 modes right, status symbol(sort by popularity) and work tools(sort by most images shared)
That's just one way. Basically regardless of the tool you're only working with the same data set as everyone else which is stuff shared on the open internet.
There's also keyword research tools you can pay like $50 for a 1 month subscription and get all the data you need.
