The Best Modern Replacement For Ls , The Default Command-line Program In unix/linux F

Discover this small, fast and modern alternative to ls a file-listing command-line program that ships with Unix and Linux operating systems. It uses colours to differentiate file types and metadata. It knows about symlinks, extended attributes, and Git. It has support for more commands and icons for more file types. I came accross it today and for me It turned out to be the best ls replacement, with good colour support for distinguishing file types, customisable output, a humane interface and even git metadata support. And above all it’s small, fast, and just one single binary. I thought I'd share here, could be beneficial to someone else here:

github. com/ eza-community/ eza
Code
alias ls='ls -hlF --color --group-directories-first'
I usually uses ls -ltr or if I need both file sizes and convenience I use ncdu
Ill be honest I thought this was gonna be some backdoored stuff.
But good share Etheri I will be testing it out but it is quite cool and a very popular tool I haven't even heard of

Yeah, I'd never heard of it either until I saw a post about it few days ago, so I thought some us here might be interest in it too

You are right, I did a little research same day, and learned about LSD too. Both projects are amazing little utilities that when combined with a well-customized shell, really make using the terminal a joy and make it a much more powerful environment.
Have you tried LSD?
