What if I record myself, making hacking videos for HF ?

I'm not talking about recording my screen and virtual machines with boring and notepad-based tutorials. I'm talking about hacking things in real life. I'm talking about things like getting a Flipper Zero, explaining it, and showing HF how it works on real-world stuff—like garage doors, my car. I could go outside with a cyberdeck backpack and hack whatever I could hack, maybe surfing on the edge sometimes ... I'm talking about capturing the true hacking vibes of the '80s-'00s that we all probably miss.

I have many ideas on my list; I'm just wondering if it's worth planing, recording, editing, and posting.

I'm also looking for feedback from social media experts on a few things, such as:
  • Which platforms I should post on (I know YouTube sometimes bans hacking videos, so I'm wondering if private uploads would still get flagged).

  • How I could protect these videos from being exported or stolen and reposted on other platforms.

  • How this could help drive traffic to HF.

  • ...and any other tips or relevant suggestions.

I'm also looking for ideas and challenges about what I could hack, as long as it doesn't go against HF's rules, of course. 7 I can confidently say that Fallen has brilliant members when it comes to hacking. I’d be glad to hear some ideas.

This project has several goals, including:
  • Creating original content for HF—content that might not be allowed on platforms like YouTube.

  • Adding some value to HF compared to other forums, dragging traffic to the forum (from other social medias such as Tiktok, Instagram, ..)

  • Strengthening the community by going beyond written posts or voice chats on Discord (I really liked few events made by members who shared videos of their life)

For OPSEC reasons, I’ll probably wear something like a ski mask. I already have few custom ideas that could be something unique to HF. GFX designers, feel free to share ideas or recommendations.

I feel like hacker culture is dying, and I want to give it a fresh breath of life. Anyone interested in participating, feel free to reach out and tag people that could be interested participating.

Maybe some feedback from Omniscient would be relevant, too.

It's not a personal project but rather a community project, of which we could create a character and something unique for the forum, with a name as well ?

Maybe this project is nipped in the bud, but I guess its success will depend on how strong the community really is...

Thanks if you've read this post guys
I can get in on that help you out if you wanted, as a demo, I took my Flipper, pwnagotchi and my pi5 with kali to a few friends houses to show what I can do.

What I did, used pwnagotchi to grab wifi hash while I was outside their house, cracked the pw with pi5, their Garage doors are wifi controlled, used Flipper to open that, then easy stuff like logging into router and changing wifi ssid, set dns on the router to point to my squid proxy server to inspect traffic.

And showed them how can control their traffic. Bastille

For all these I had approval, so maybe ask some mates to use their environments and in the video do your thing, but at the end say something like you had approval. etc

On a side note-
Im doing something similar in the world getting people back to hacking - but going younger generation.
Im setting up a learning platform which I will host for free for kids 13 - 18.

Since im going through training myself, I will be sharing that knowledge with them.

please please do it
Would be hard to figure out a platform. I've heard of people getting banned pretty quickly on Tiktok and other platforms for ethical/infosec videos. You should definitely go the short-form content route though, if you can find away around the bans. Maybe test out all of them - Facebook/reels/Tiktok/Youtube shorts.

You could pair the videos/shorts with a tutorial on HF. Just say go to this thread to get the script, etc.

can maybe do rumble since you can embed here
I love this idea; I would love to see some hardware tinkering/hacking from you. I am also willing to help you with projects along the road.
I can help with coding, editing, and graphics when it comes to the projects.

YouTube is sometimes okay with it, as long as it is for educational purposes. However, there's also Rumble, on which you should be able to get away with most things. Or even X.com; I'm sure it would slide and would draw quite a bit of attention compared to Rumble, since the engagement there is good.

I truly believe this would help bring new faces to HackForums, a ton.

Flipper Zero.

I keep seeing videos about them but still don't know if it's worth buying or if they're just over hyping it.

That would be really cool man.

Odysee would prob allow it also.
I truly hope that this will happen and I'm not much of a hacker myself, but if I can assist you in some way then please let me know!

Which platforms I should post on: YouTube is okay to post on, but you will have to make sure it's very clear that it's educational purposes only like Klonopin has said. Omni said you can embed with Rumble. Also, a great option.
How I could protect these videos from being exported or stolen and reposted on other platforms: This will be a much harder task than anything really. There's not really a way to prevent this unless you make it private but then that won't bring traffic to HF.
How this could help drive traffic to HF: Others will find your videos interesting; you can maybe add HF to your videos a little bit and they'll know where to go and where they could possibly learn it. Or they can find something they're interested in on HF and bam. New friends and family are welcome to HF!
Any other tips or relevant suggestions: I hate to say it, but TikTok traffic would be a great way to get exposure to your videos and/or HF itself.

It's kinda just hype.

I like this idea. This I what personally, I have been working towards.
I think this would drive traffic this way. Do it mate.

You can talk with me direct if you like about some of the things I have been working on also Fallen can come up with some real "HQ" ideas on what people are looking at learning. Which why within the group I have been pushing both black and white hat sections.

Its also the reason I wanted to start malware removal but thats on delay
You can draw alot of traffic on both the offence and defence.

100% Game
I was going to make the tutorials while using deep face live and switch my fce with the avatar which is some of the reason I have been upgrading hardware

Also looked into mass-producing youtube shorts related to hacking too.
Easy to create ad publish without much input to boost channel views and activity.

My plan was to do the tutorial on video but the text to be only available on HF thread.
So they can follow the video but if they want the direct instructions they need to sign up

Are there any actual applications?

Everything I see is basically a “god key” that can do anything.

That would be really cool and it's definitely the kind of content I was thinking about ! As I said this is not a "personal" project, like anyone could contribute, we just need to define the guidelines, the platforms, and so on. As the content could be striked on mainstream platforms, we could "tease" with short videos to drag people to other platforms such as Rumble and also Hackforums. If there are any troubles regarding sharing the URL of a hacking forum we could just encode it in the description, it could be like a challenge to find and join the forum.

Thanks for the feedback ! Your advice are really relevant, in case we have some troubles with YouTube's policies we could just make teasers, add the forum / rumble link in the description, and if the forum URL is also a problem maybe encode it to bypass the bots (if it works), that could also be a challenge for new members to find and join us.

Yeah I understand that keeping content without being stolen is complicated, we should at least think about some watermarks to keep the "legitimity" of the videos. Even if they're shared by other people, watchers will still see hackforums.net or something like that.

+ for Tiktok, we have to if we want to target a larger audiance

Thanks buddy 🙏 I'll definitely consult Fallen for this

I really really like the last part, this would definitely increase the engagement on HF
