Hey HF!
I just wanted to share a little chuckle, maybe motivation, and I am curious to hear if there are any similar stories.
I was just reading back on my posts/threads and found this: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5697823.
It's crazy, and amazing how consistency, and focusing on something with the right mindset can go a very long way.
Very grateful to have posted something like that, and be able to look at it from where I am now, the progress, the journey.
Do you have a similar story? Would you like to share?
Looking forward to hearing everyone's stories. If you share a story, and have a friend who has a similar one, you should nominate them to post theirs. Let's motivate each other and grow!
Hoping too soon. Currently I’m broke, 0 dollars, but I’m just back from travelling so I’m thankful. Hoping that the year oncoming has good opportunities and growth for me, and if it doesn’t, I’ll make the most of it.
I’ve learned to be grateful for what’s in front of me rather than constantly looking in the future.
Congratulations on your journey op. I hope it continues to go well for you.

Welcome back from travelling, it's one of the best things you can do as well, especially if you connect and network with people.
Don't sweat it too much, take your time, and I'm sure you'll be asking for advice on how to invest your first $8 soon enough.
Thank you for the kind wishes, I've still got a long way to go, but I wish you the same and more!

I started with <£20 for my E-Com business and now I do around £20-30k~ yearly revenue, it's not exactly life changing money and I still have to work a regular job part time but I just think that some people have to work a regular job FULL TIME and they have much less free time than me.
I don't need a lot of money to be happy and I value my freedom at much more than £100/hr+. And I'm always growing my ecom stores.

I didn't know you could start doing e-com, I'm guessing dropshipping, with less than £20.
And reaching 20-30k in yearly rev (hopefully profitable) is amazing man. Happy to hear it!
Been saving up capital to start doing e-com on the side actually, but I guess I don't need as much as I thought to start.
I agree, I mean for me, the point of making more money is to gain more freedom. What else is money for? That's the mindset.
More success and freedom to you!

I don't dropship at all, I think it's one of the worst ways to run an ecommerce business personally, there's so many systematic flaws with it unless you have the money and infastructure to fix them. I import wholesale then resell with a 30%~ markup. My products have a 4-9%~ defect rate so if I didn't do my own quality assurance my reviews would be in the dumpster, my reviews are incredibly good and I take a lot of pride in making sure every person who shops with me is happy.
I have a person in China buying from 1688.com (China to China B2B) for me, they consolidate all the products I choose then send them to a freight forwarder, the freight forwarder imports them for me into the UK, then I resell Internationally from my bedroom :P, Etsy is round 80% USA Orders and Ebay is like 85% UK based orders.
Here's an old thread similar to yours I made: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6259973

Oh that's awesome, I agree with you on the flaws regarding dropshipping. A lot of drop shippers I know have the worst customer support experience when it comes to dropshipping, a lot of disputes as well, etc.
To solve that, I just had a plan to purchase 10 products and see how good the quality is of what I want to sell. That's mainly why I was saving up a lot of capital, there's probably gonna be a lot of testing and whatnot. I want to provide Amazon/better-than-Amazon level support. Honestly, it's definitely worth the wait.
The new import tax thing in the US as well is kinda making me wait a bit to see how things will go.
Your approach is awesome, though. I don't think I've seen it mentioned anywhere.

Even if you bought 10 products the 11th could have a defect, and you can't always talk yourself out of a negative review unfortunately :(
Chinese people scam Chinese people constantly, and they care even less about Westerners, so unless you are paying for someone to Quality Check every product it's always going to be risky. Although some people just operate under that model and coast by with a 90-95%~ positive feedback rate. I aim for 99%+ personally. On my new Etsy I have 1150~ sales with an 100% positive feedback rate and on Ebay I have 4.6k Items sold with a 99.5% Positive Feedback rate.
All platforms regardless of what it is will promote you and rank your products based on a ton of different things and Feedback/disputes is a huge one. Positive Feedback, Un-resolved Disputes, Shipping Times etc.

I didn't know that 99-100% positive feedback was even possible, and yeah, I was afraid of the same, but I just thought I'd refund them in this case. As there's not much I can do besides that, unfortunately.
Not sure if you believe in this or not, but honestly, what goes around comes around. So regardless of the platform algorithm itself, I just believe that the more you work on whatever you provide, and actually try to do it as best as possible, it'll just work out somehow.
🥂 to positive reviews, haha
What did you end up doing with the $8 anyways?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I either bought accounts to resell or purchased an RDP.
What about you? How was your journey with your first online income? Do you remember what you did with it?
My journey hasn't been money. It's been spiritual and health related. I'm on a diet and exercising. I've lost weight and gained lots of strength. And on the spiritual side I'm feeling more connected. Won't bother you with the details on that.

I mean, spirituality changed my life. I won't get into details either since this is about a different topic.
I'd love to hear more details about that, though. I'd be happy to share mine too, sometime.
I wish you more health and spiritual aha-moments!

I started along time ago with porn banner ads that paid 5 cents a click. I used to have a crappy 'warez' website back in the late 90's - early 2000's. With text ads like 'Brittany Spears Pussy' people could not resist to click and I made a whopping $50 a month with checks being mailed to my mail box often. Also did Alladvantage get paid to surf and made $100+ a month. Mod-chips.com also sent me PPC money. My friends at the time could not believe these companies really mailed me checks... lol
I miss those days!😥

But, here we are and... where are them now?
Hey man, we all start somewhere. Would you like to share anything from that journey?
