So I got bored and am currently cooking this up real fkn quick, I think i have something potentially pretty profitable on my hands with some further tweaks. Only took an hour or two to make lol.
Anyone done this before?

I did something similar in Ethereum. Ran for a couple of weeks until people smarter and better funded than me got in the game and completely wiped me out of any opportunity. Note that it is a matter of time before someone on chain notices what you are doing and optimizes it 1% to take away all your cake. If you find a profitable opportunity you will be playing an infinite game of cat and mouse (which is cool, go ahead!)

This. If you're not getting beat by someone better or smarter than you, you'll be getting saturated by dozens of others trying to capitalize on the opportunity.
One of my favorite MEV groups just open sourced some of their tooling for this very reason
Ya these are just API calls, nothing unique here yo
I would think that trading bots on new chains is profitable for maybe 1-2 weeks before it's ruined. Might be why there are constantly new crypto's being released to feed the hungry masses. I do not approve.

All the new crypto's released post 2018 are just to feed the hungry masses.
Why No Good Crypto Coin Has Been Released After 2018
This is a hot take, but let’s be real — there’s a good reason why most of the “good” crypto projects came before 2018. Here’s the breakdown:
🧱 Pre-2018: The Golden Era of Real Innovation
Coins like: - Bitcoin (2009) – Digital gold. The OG decentralized currency.
- Ethereum (2015) – Introduced smart contracts, changed the game.
- Monero (2014) – Privacy-first.
- Litecoin (2011) – Faster, cheaper version of Bitcoin.
These were created to solve real problems. They had strong ideological or technical motivations, not just financial ones.
🪙 Post-2018: Hype Over Substance
After the 2017 bull run, the space got flooded with: - Pump-and-dump ICOs.
- Forks with minor changes pretending to be revolutionary.
- Narrative-driven tokens – AI coins, dog coins, metaverse coins, etc.
- VC-backed projects with huge pre-mines.
The focus shifted from building to cashing out.
🧪 No Groundbreaking Tech
Post-2018 projects rarely bring something new. Why? - Bitcoin nailed store-of-value.
- Ethereum handles smart contracts.
- Monero took care of privacy.
- Most new chains are just forks or L2s.
Innovation slowed. Instead, we got “Ethereum killers” that just copied Ethereum with higher TPS.
💸 Broken Tokenomics
Many post-2018 coins: - Launch with massive pre-mines or VC allocations.
- Dump on retail users.
- Have no long-term incentives aligned with the community.
Compare that to Satoshi, who mined fairly and disappeared.
🔍 Exceptions (But Rare)
A few post-2018 projects deserve a mention: - Arweave (2018) – Permanent decentralized storage.
- Celestia (2023) – Modular blockchain architecture.
- ZK-rollup projects (zkSync, StarkNet) – Real tech in scaling/privacy.
But even these aren’t widely adopted by users chasing memes and pumps.
TL;DR
Most post-2018 coins suck because: - They’re driven by hype, not utility.
- Little actual innovation left to do.
- Founders care more about exit liquidity than decentralization.
- Crypto shifted from freedom-tech to casino-finance.

Is it worth investing time and effort for in this? I've always wondered but I never got convinced to do it myself.

Depends how good you are i suppose. I only put an hour or two into it and then switched to doing some other work, but ill likely go back to it at some point. i had it in a state where it was often barely losing any money, mostly breakeven (even with the provider fees) if there was no provider fees it would be profiting, and im sure i can fine tune it some more and do some other stuff with it to reach a profitable point.
Are you just looking for opportunity in price differences between trading platforms, or are you actually looking at MEV as well? MEV is where the real money is at, but also where you'll find fierce competition.
