Mother Dying Alongside Her 5-Year-Old Son Texted Killer's Name in Final Moments

Mother Dying Alongside Her 5-Year-Old Son Texted Killer's Name in Final Moments, Police Say.

According to a report from local outlet AL.com, 28-year-old Arkia "Kia" Berry texted the word "Jaco" to a friend just moments before her death — referring to 25-year-old Jacorrian McGregor, who was arrested for her murder.

Phone records obtained by detectives also show that McGregor's friends had been texting him about the shooting, telling him to "lay low, stay out of sight, say hidden."

This is so awful... glad he got caught, bubba will take care of him in prison.

And this "lay low, stay out of sight, stay hidden."
How dense can someone be to even text that and think you'll get away with it 🤦‍♂️😭

How are his friends such low lifes that when they find out a mother, her boyfriend and her 5 year old baby are dead and their friend might have killed him to text him to stay hidden?
Her cousin said "She and her five year old were like two peas in a pod. She loved her baby so much. Everything he wanted, he had. Everything he needed, he had. She took care of her baby the way she was supposed to," Aniya Berry, Arkia's cousin told CBS 42.

This world is so fucking cruel sometimes... well, most of the time in all honesty.
Arkia “Kia” Berry used her final moments to send a chilling one-word text — “Jaco” — identifying her alleged killer, Jacorrian McGregor, before dying alongside her 5-year-old son and boyfriend in a triple homicide.

As she lay dying, Berry managed to send a text message to a friend with the word “Jaco,” which police believe referred to Jacorrian Deshawn McGregor, 25, who uses “Jaco” as a nickname.
Jaco McGregor was arrested and charged with capital murder for the deaths of all three victims. Prosecutors presented Berry’s final text as a key piece of evidence during a preliminary hearing.

Birmingham homicide Detective Jarvelius Tolliver testified that Berry’s message was essentially her way of naming her killer so people would see it from beyond the grave.

The suspect’s defense attorney has questioned the evidentiary value of the text, but prosecutors maintain it was a deliberate and meaningful act by Berry in her last moments.

This case has drawn national attention not only for its tragic nature but also for Berry’s extraordinary effort to identify her killer while dying. Her final act may prove pivotal in securing justice for her family.
May they go to heaven.

Yeah, hopefully they arrested all his "friends" that were looking out for him, and not wanting him to be arrested for killing a five year old and two others. So many people are apparently so stupid with texting. They make a lot of cops and prosecuting attorneys jobs SO easy, and leave all the defense attorneys face palming.
So sad 😢 😢 😢 the mother texted the shooter’s name moments before the homicide only Thinking of her child 😢😢😢🤣🤣

Well just being killed via Death Penalty seems like an easy way out. It seems like prison with no chance for parole might be worse even though these days they get tablets and games and movies in the evenings after work on their devices. Still.....

Apparently in the USA the death penalty actually ends up being super expensive because they have the right to a large number of appeal attempts that the taxpayer ends up paying for.

Much of the free world no longer has the death penalty.
The following states still do.
Alabama

Arizona
Arkansas

California
Florida

Georgia
Idaho

Indiana
Kansas

Kentucky
Louisiana

Mississippi
Missouri

Montana
Nebraska

Nevada
North Carolina

Ohio
Oklahoma

South Carolina
South Dakota

Tennessee
Texas

Utah

Wyoming
Wow at least the murder was solved before it happened
