I found it incredibly hard to read this thread with the font/background/opacity changes. This userscript makes the background solid again if it bothered anyone else. It should work on every page but feel free to modify as needed.

I am not a fan of the font either. If you add this line it should revert the new font

I'm not sure if this is the best way to tweak styles or not but it seems to work for me

Yeah I just put the following into Stylus. I personally don't want a new font but each to their own. I enjoy the classic MyBB fonts.
