If the moon were only 1 pixel: A tediously accurate solar system model (2014)

Found this pretty neat! ✌

Very neat indeed.

It illustrates how tiny we are even in our own solar system. :-)

Might as well stop now. We'll need to scroll through 6,771 more maps like this before we see anything else.

Rofl yea that was alot of scrolling

Makes me feel even worse about life and knowing that anything i do wont matter. 😥

It's like that for everyone, embrace it.

Really neat, came across similar perspective on a YouTube short, where it compared, planets, stars, etc. - you can quickly start to feel how little we are and for how short we are on this planet.

I close my eyes
Only for a moment and the moment's gone
All my dreams
Pass before my eyes with curiosity
Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind
Same old song
Just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do
Crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Oh, oh
Now don't hang on
Nothin' lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away
And all your money won't another minute buy
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
(All we are is dust in the wind)
Dust in the wind
(Everything is dust in the wind)
Everything is dust in the wind
(In the wind)

Feeling small and insignificant after seeing that. 🙁

🙃🙃🙃

Good and thought provoking post, though. I got similar vibes from that Carl Sagan video "Pale Blue Dot", about how tiny we are in the universe, and how ridiculous, at least some, of our daily worries seem in comparison.

QL 🙂

Yes, it is so real. I always felt that way looking at the night sky.
