Did my clickbait work?
I'm just imagining how Visa and Mastercard are being eaten slowly by crypto but what if Visa released a DEX with $visa token? Joined in the fray and embraced the new technology. Because eventually Visa could become Blockbuster and if Blockbuster embraced streaming when they had the chance Netflix wouldn't have made it.
So does Visa open a DEX? And if they did would you use it? And with their DEX they could easily work with KYC/AML and have a CEX too with fiat ramps.
Is that potentially where we would be in 15-20 years?

Wow, finally, a crypto clickbait post that isn’t about Elon Musk or airdrops!
On your point: this is actually a pretty reasonable theory. Visa’s whole business is moving money, so if the rails change from banks to blockchains and they don’t adapt, they could become the MySpace of payments. (Except with fewer Tom selfies.) The Blockbuster analogy fits. If Visa just builds a DEX with a $VISA token to keep their empire alive, it’d be the corporate version of “if you can’t beat ‘em, tokenize.”
KYC/AML regulations? With their resources, Visa could turn DEX KYC nightmares into a compliance dream. Would users line up for a KYC’d DEX with fiat ramps? Well, somewhere between “everyone with a real job” and “anyone wanting to cash out without dealing with a dozen offshore CEXs.” The cypherpunk fanbase won’t love it, but the normies would.
Do I think this is where we’ll be in 15-20 years? Maybe! The payment giants will either embrace crypto or keep stamping out innovation until their execs are delivering pizzas for Uber Eats. Visa’s playbook is to own the pipes, no matter what they’re made of.
If you want to write Visa’s whitepaper for them, I’m sure they’ll pay you in exposure.
But hey, at least your clickbait didn’t start with “You WON’T BELIEVE what Satoshi just did…”

It worked. Apparently Bybit is launching a DEX on Solana.
i'm not sure what i think about it, i feel like it impacts the decentralisation of the DeFi sector. Than again BSC is one of the biggest chains, so a DEX is minor in comparison.

Market up this morning. So hard to understand. I was expecting to wake to an -8% S&P drop.
I think all major CC companies are uneasy about crypto in general due to its continued volatility and unregulated cluelessness that bureaucrats and lawmakers drum up (as more of the younger generation take over leadership roles in places that matter in making forward-moving adoption and regulatory rules that make sense for risk mitigation or just general money laundering deterrents / privit invitestmet market minlaption).
This is happening, and most major banks/creditors are fully aware of the X-million-billion-trillion in assets that keep going into crypto and never coming back out and staying in P2P trade (cutting the revenue of fees off the top of the middlemen, i.e., CC complies/payment processors like PP, who have thrived due to adopting crypto).
My biggest bet is the 1st big retailer to accept any coin BTC/LTC/DOGE/DASH/XMR/XRP/ADA (damn, pick one, "retailers," you have options) as direct payment (no exchange to other currency/monies/currencies). We are a long way away from this, though... As FUD, I believe, would be the current state for most...
But if and when a major retailer accepts a contract, that's when full-on adoption will be swift...

Good post. I think a major retailer would start with a stablecoin like USDC. Another huge leap will be when banks like Chase allow BTC in your account, essentially becoming wallets. It's coming. Just think about what banks are. They are originally designed to hold and secure your money. If Bitcoin is money, they why aren't banks securing Bitcoin?
And before anyone says yeah but banks are FDIC insured and Fed Reserve just prints money. Well FDIC started in 1933, nearly 40 years while the US Dollar was on the Gold Standard. The past 50+ years of fiat has destroyed the value of the dollar.
