I am basing my thoughts on known military tech, which hasn't released new capabilities in essentially 80 years if you go off of the creation of the nuke. We've made a few bombs, but if you look into scalar energy systems and other tech, the nuke is primitive comparatively (and safer too) - But really, there are decades of advancements that we have yet to test on modern battlefields because we haven't had a good target yet.

I think that it's important to acknowledge the following:
