Quantum threats are not immediate, but preparation is key.
Crypto markets could face huge losses without quantum-proofing.
Quantum computing may not be an issue right now, but the future will be here before you know it.. so better to be prepared from now. We all knew AI was coming, and look.. it's here already. Never sleep, stay ready.
This goes right along with what I've been saying is the future of Bitcoin.
What's going to happen is that for National Security Bitcoin will need to be secured. Bitcoin will become the Global Reserve Currency and governments all over the world will be mining but also securing the network to ensure threat actors can't attack the global financial network.
I think it's interesting the SEC is worried about Bitcoin security. Eventually it will fall to either a new agency or the NSA.
Digital assets are only as strong as their defenses. If quantum tech can break them, then trust in crypto could collapse fast.

Good. Let it push out the real defi networks rather then the commercial ones.
Just like online casinos and ecommerce in the beginning of BTC - allowing double spending to occur so easily.
