Colorado School Shooting

A school shooting has taken place in Colorado at Evergreen High School, reports say 4 Students were injured, 3 in critical condition.

The shooter is also wounded.

This is all becoming the new normal, this country is too far gone.
Damn, this is rough and not okay. Nobody should ever be shooting kids, it's crazy.

I will say though... School shootings are nothing new.

Quote:After 3-consecutive-year high, school shootings drop 23% in 2024-25
School shootings were also down in the first half of 2025 overall when compared to the same period in 2024.

Technically we were trending in the right direction. Not sure where we are now.

Unfortunately guns will probably never be banned, or if they are, I'm sure it'll unfairly target certain demographics if it happens soon.

I really don’t know the reason for all this shooting in America.

People are fucked. Some do it for revenge, religion, anger, mental health. So many reasons.

The key is limiting the access to guns. Do what Australia did so many years ago after Port Arthur.

To be fair, nobody does it for religion, the ones who do it based on religion are doing it because of their failure to understand scriptures and their wrongful interpretation of those scriptures.

A lot of it is mental health, anger being part of their mental health issues and until we as Americans say enough and enact some common sense gun laws this shit will continue to happen.

I highly doubt the firearm used not only in the Charlie Kirk assassination but also this school shooting were purchased illegally we will see but it doesn't change the fact that the majority are legally purchased, and with the lack of basic MSE when purchasing a firearm those who suffer from these more serious kinds of mental illness are able to obtain them.

I don't want guns banned, I don't want any law abiding citizen who is mentally stable enough to make rational decisions from being able to purchase and own firearms, I just want those who should not have them to not legally be able to obtain them and then from there we need to tackle the trafficking of illegal firearms in this country.

Guns being illegally purchases in USA would be hard to obtain if you handed out less guns legally.

Less volume, less sales, less dodgyness.

Guns were banned in Australia unless you obtained a very hard to get licence. Since then you struggle to purchase guns illegally and when you do they come at a way higher costs that most can't afford or justify.

Just my thoughts. I like guns and enjoy shooting guns in a safe setting. But I also don't like the idea of most people owning them. Too much risk and then you see these events happening more and more.

I think this has become a mental health issue at the moment with all the shooting

Even if we banned guns there is still likely millions of them on the black market so criminals will still have access, so that would require a major law enforcement crackdown on the black market.

I do not support banning guns, I simply support some common sense gun laws, but everyone is free to disagree with me that is our right, to disagree.

In fact I encourage law abiding citizens to go get some basic firearm safety training and to then purchase a firearm legally for self defense and hunting purposes, it would be a bit hypocritical of me someone who is a Prepper to be against law abiding citizens from obtaining firearms.

Hunting is an important life skill, you cannot always rely on the fact that grocery stores will be there to meet all your needs with the way the world is going, and obviously self defense is extremely important.

I don't think it should be a hard process either, just a thorough process to ensure the person is mentally capable of owning a firearm.
