I would really love if someone can enlighten me in DDoS attacks these days. I use to be a self proclaimed "King" of DDoS attacks YEARS ago. About 10+ years ago. I am now getting back into deeper Pentesting and I urgently need assistance in getting something setup ASAP.
Back in the day, I always knew of IRC and Botnets, but I did not get into them. I heard that Botnets were the best for DDoS attacks. Is this still true?
Me personally, I used a VPS offshore. I would get a VPS buy purchasing one, upload it to PuTTy with a good DDoS Perl SCript and I did my DDoS attacks this way through PuTTy.
My question is, does this method even still exist? Do people still DDoS by buying a VPS and using it for DDoS? I feel like no one really knows that method.
Anywho, is there anyone here who can help setup a Botnet for me? I will pay, we can get a contract going for the Botnet setup. But I need someone with TOUGH EXPERIENCE in DDoS'ing and Botnets. I am using the Botnet for the purpose to ONLY send DDoS attacks.

I'm with you. I'm from the old school days of IRC bots. It appears now that they are using the decentralized P2P networks, but I don't know for sure. I'm guessing that they try to open a server connection on as many of the bots as they can with UPnP, but I don't know. I'm not a big fan of DDoS these days cuz it can get you into a lot of trouble, but I would like to know the methodology at work.

I have been in the DDoS community for a long time as well, 8+ years and the industry has changed alot. It's no longer simple to DDoS via layer 3/4 anymore as a bulletproof server with a perl script can only get you so far as its most likely a DoS script without spoofing the source ip address which is easy to mitigate and block as an attack.
Nowadays botnets are honestly very dead and its not really a thing anymore within the community besides C2's which run on API's, most people just purchase stressers API and link it to their C2's and start reselling.
The best thing you could do is get a spoofed server which has IPHM enabled which allows you to spoof your attack (modify the origin's attack source) which never reveals your servers ip address. This with a good script can get you a long way.
Let me know if you want to speak more upon this, I currently own a stresser without using other peoples power besides my own.

There are many providers that accept IP Modification Header. But they are "hidden," and if you suspect that a particular ISP is spoofing, check it first on spoofer.caida.org.
Spoofing is not that difficult; it depends on how the ISP routes. In the past, most spoofing originated from Cogent's line. That's why HostSailor, Host.AG, Verdina, and all the others were spoofing. Colocrossing lol.
In the past, spoofing worked on Iomart. Even on OVH (I'm talking about 2014-2015), there were a lot of stressers hosted with the .ovh domain, and no one was "afraid." But since the vDos Stresser story... and a lot of stressers being shut down, in 2025 they ended up caring more about confidentiality with domains from Nicenic, Cnobin, bulletproof hosting.
As for stressers, it's not something I recommend 100%. Some stressers are OK, but many run under "cover."

I can't disclose my hosting provider on here as this is more of a private matter and I wouldn't want the host getting leaked in any kind of way, thats how most spoofing/IPHM enabled providers stop spoofing due to upstream reports and such but be sure to message me if you are interested in learning more or have any further questions. Some providers do spoof but they often suspend your server due to the illegal DDoS, even if its used for educational purposes.

So do you also agree that using a VPS with IPHM is the best way to DDoS now in days?

Dedicated server would be preferred but for testing and smaller attacks then the answer would be "yes". A vps would be the smarter choice.

Im possibly down to do this. Through a contract obviously. Probably what need a MM as well. Your account is way too new to send you any money for any types of services.
