Emergency services sources confirmed that a person died by suicide after jumping from Disney’s Contemporary Resort hotel in Florida’s Walt Disney World.
A source familiar with the investigation claimed that it was a man who jumped from the 12th floor after checking in on Wednesday night and paying for the room in cash.
This death occurred just one week and one mile from where Summer Equitz, 31, died in an “apparent suicide.”
Equitz’s body was found at Disney’s Contemporary Resort hotel, and the Orange County medical examiner determined she died from multiple blunt force injuries.
She was described as a Disney superfan.
Equitz was a lifelong Disney enthusiast who honeymooned at Disney World just last year.
In December 2024, she announced in what is now a heartbreaking social media post that she was expecting a child.
According to her LinkedIn profile, she worked at the park from 2012 to 2015 as a character performer and entertainment host.
Prior to confirmation of her death, a Reddit user – claiming to be a relative – started a now-deleted missing persons thread asking others to look out for Equitz, saying she had travelled from her home in Illinois without informing anyone.
Police were seen responding at the hotel after guests reported seeing a deceased individual.”
Equitz’s passion for Disney went back many years. In 2011, she shared her love of Disney in a blog.
She reminisced about previously performing in Beauty and the Beast, calling it her “favorite Disney show of all time.”
“I did it with my best friend, Sarah – we both had such a great time we had to come back for all the other shows,” she recalled.
