I find ebay to have much more items to buy or sell on but I do prefer to buy on Amazon more. I'm not sure about selling on Amazon I've never done it yet.

I know amazon is good but its a lot more work. another good is poshmark but its for some certain items

Way more work it seems. Gotta also use an efficient pricing strategy to keep up with other suppliers on there Same for Walmart's new MP which sucks.

Dodged a bullet not knowing them. They owe me a lot of money and attached some type of global identifier to me that circumvents me from opening an account in my name after I called them the mexican version of eBay (sorry Nintendo).

Doing market analysis for in-demand categories by looking over different platforms mentioned then creating a site as a side hustle to funnel your omnichannels there after a good amount of exposure is also a way to see decent ROI but in all honesty, this is really more of a sidehustle. It's a decent side hustle if you have the time and a main source of income. Imho when selling tangible products particularly, your niche inevitably will be the most important part of revenue generation aside from creating your own model after trial and error; unless you're just flipping stuff you've had on hand without buying and reselling.

I've had the most success selling a wide variety of items on Mercari instead of targeting a particular product mix and market segment (basically a closet for everything and anything ranging from electronics to clothing that I either would get wholesale, were items I once owned, or stuff I purchased years ago and waited for the correct time to flip it. There are sites that let you use predictive modeling to determine the best items to do this with and Chat can also make good recommendations based on the current demand.

Sport cards, gameboy games, clothing, refurbished (either by me or elsewhere via contracting with a 3pp vendor to do cheaper) phones and laptops as well. If you know of local PC repair shops, it's a great place to start by calling them and seeing if they have older macbooks and stuff like that they'd be willing to either give away or sell at a low price that you could receive a 17-35% return on depending on how you position the product is very possible.

I tried my hand on eBay before Covid years. It worked.
