If you use Lovable.dev, have you noticed the slowdowns? It seems throttled and there have been outages & other issues in the last month or two.
I worry about companies that have grown too fast. I'm sure some are offering services at a loss or thin margins, and Lovable has taken on a metric ton of tech debt in terms of hosting customers... they offer production deployments for web software that can be spun up in minutes for relatively low monthly costs. It depends on traffic obviously but I could see them making the mistake of miscalculating their operating costs & performance just like shared hosting companies did in the beginning. Some of these AI companies are trying to be AI and hosting providers, all at once..
I apparently used this site before because I have an account. I don't recall what I used it for. I visit so many AIs.
It seems like a website building AI?
AI Quote: Loveable.ai (often just Lovable or Lovable.dev) is an AI-powered application and website builder — you describe what you want it to make in plain English and the platform automatically generates a full web app for you (front-end + back-end + database + APIs) based on your prompts. ([Lovable][1])
📌 What it actually is
An AI full-stack development platform — sometimes called a “AI software engineer” — that turns natural-language instructions into real, editable, production-ready code. ([UI Bakery][2])
You don’t need to hand-write UI, database code, or API logic; the AI handles that for you. ([Lovable Documentation][3]) It’s designed so non-developers and developers alike can build apps, prototypes, MVPs, dashboards, and full web products faster than traditional coding. ([Lovable Documentation][4])
You can preview, edit, and even export the generated code (often in frameworks like React for frontend and Supabase for backend). ([UI Bakery][2])
🤖 How it works (in simple terms)
1. You type a description (“Build a CRM with users, tasks, and email notifications”). ([UI Bakery][2])
2. AI generates a starter project — UI, routes, database schema, auth, etc. ([Lovable Documentation][4])
3. You can review the code, iterate using more prompts, or customize manually. ([UI Bakery][2])
4. You can deploy an app quickly without doing all the wiring by hand. ([Lovable][1])
🛠 Typical capabilities
Full-stack app scaffolding (UI + backend + DB) from language prompts. ([UI Bakery][2])
Built-in authentication and database integration (often via Supabase). ([Lovable][1]) Editable code export (so you can continue coding yourself). ([UI Bakery][2])
AI-assisted refinements — add features or fix bugs by asking. ([Lovable Documentation][4])
💡 Who it’s for
Entrepreneurs & startups who want to build MVPs quickly. ([Lovable][1])
Non-developers who want to create websites or apps without coding. ([Lovable Documentation][4]) Developers who want AI assistance to speed up boilerplate and prototyping. ([UI Bakery][2])
🧠 What it’s *not*
It’s not just a drag-and-drop site builder like Wix or Squarespace; it actually generates code that you can edit and ship. ([UI Bakery][2])
* It’s not purely no-code block UI — the emphasis is on prompting + real code. ([UI Bakery][2])
📈 Market / traction
Lovable has seen rapid growth in users and revenue, and is part of the new wave of “ vibe coding” tools where AI assists directly in writing full applications rather than just snippets. ([en.wikipedia.org][5])
If you want, I can break down how Lovable compares with other AI app builders or show you examples of apps you could build on it based on a prompt — just tell me what you’re interested in!

So many AI's to remember.
You should try it out to be honest, it's pretty cool. You can ask it for a secure multi user portal with admin functions (CRUD), and get very reliable results.
I've generated dozens of web software / saas style on Lovable, as well as full blown Shopify apps, embeddables, and also simple landing pages. It can handle a lot and it hooks right into its own Cloud hosting, or Supabase & other third parties.
If you prompt it properly and avoid it using its own managed services you can export to Github once done and then self host it :)
I even made forum software on there, just for fun
I also made some fun timewasters w/ a friend:

I haven't noticed any slowdown on Lovable in the last week but i rarely use it now since its mostly just for when i need a prototype, kinda replaced lovable/Replit with tools inside VS code because it make everything more manageable
Would you recommend it over Replit for building a website/app?

Yes, I used it, but honestly I didn’t really stick around to watch it too much. It was a pretty easy job, just a landing page. I added the images myself and the SEO text with keywords, that’s it, then I left and came back after a while 😆
When I returned, everything was OK. I liked the design from the first look.🙂

I used it some time ago, but now it depends on what I want to do. Here, this is what AI says:
AI Quote: Replit is a full-fledged cloud IDE for diverse coding (50+ languages, full-stack, AI-assisted), great for complex apps, learning, and collaboration, focusing on code-first development with strong backend/deployment features. Lovable, conversely, is an AI-powered builder for rapid prototyping, focusing on generating production-ready React/Tailwind frontends and integrated backends (Supabase) from visual/text prompts, ideal for MVPs, solo founders, and quick demos with strong UI/UX learning. The choice depends on whether you prioritize deep coding/scalability (Replit) or speed/visual AI generation (Lovable).

I recommend trying everything a few times each using the free trials, credits, etc per day ... It's best to be knowledgable about every solution and not just one. So yes, if you've never used Lovable to make a web software or website in minutes, then go for it. You can even make games, but you should prompt for a project again if it does not nail it on first attempt, and give it good instructions.
