Update

Draw A Winner Process Upgrade

Winner drawings are now handled through an automated HFTools system powered by the official Hack Forums API.

Contest hosts post their completed form in my Draw A Winner thread. The system automatically:

• Checks for new requests every night at 8:00 PM Eastern.
• Reads each request twice to ensure it has finished being edited.
• Validates the participant count, winner count, ordered entry list, and contest link.
• Confirms through the HF API that the requester owns the linked contest thread.
• Stops and requests manual review if anything conflicts or is unclear.
• Securely draws unique winners without replacement.
• Permanently locks the result so it cannot be rerolled.
• Generates a winner proof image.
• Publishes the authorized result through the HF API.
• Reads the published reply back and verifies it was posted correctly.
• Detects existing results and prevents duplicate replies.

I only have two manual checkpoints: reviewing and approving the submitted list, then authorizing the public result. Everything else is automated.

Important:

• Submit one contest per reply.
• Counts must exactly match the submitted list.
• Only list contestants who are still eligible.
• If prizes differ, explain their draw-order allocation in a note.
• Conflicting or unclear requests will be rejected instead of guessed.

The upgrade provides faster drawings, human oversight, no silent rerolls, duplicate-post protection, and a verifiable result for every contest.

I haven't seen any contests that had 200+ entries. I'm very busy and I don't have time to go through every contest thread and make a list myself to draw a winner so the contest holder is responsible for that.
