Their momentum lately has been astounding and I'm only seeing positives.

The macro will obviously dictate the direction Sui heads this year, as it will with 99% of alts, but if conditions improve, Sui's primed for explosive growth again. Their perps volume is steadily growing, Aftermath just launched the most impressive fully on chain perps dex pretty much in existence, they just need more pairs and to start drawing in volume. DeepBook has had some major upgrades with more to come (prediction liquidity layer being one).

Nothing to do with SUI's use cases and momentum, just a gut feeling it will be a red year for BTC and crypto as a whole, as above so below.
Undoubtedly I believe it will see some great gains in the future, just not right now.

Sui's low represents a more bullish time. Two years ago consider the market compared to today.

That data makes me think Sui will see a new low.

And everyday I just see bad signs for the world economy.

Funny thing: I put in $20 for SUI at $5. Now it’s worth $3.95 total. Not so pretty :( but hey, I hope there’s a bottom to this, I would totally put something in

I'm still slowly accumulating. Looking cycle to cycle, roughly 20% of top 100 coins perform well and retest ATH's in their next cycle, 80% will fade into obscurity. What sets the 20% apart is continued development during bear market conditions (from both the core team and ecosystem builders), and the tech built still being relevant / performant. Sui still exhibits all of these traits, and could be well positioned to be a part of that 20% as we [hopefully] enter another new cycle.

If all goes well, I can retire before I'm 40.
If it doesn't, I've already cashed out enough more than I ever expected I'd make in crypto, I won't beat myself up over it.

The gas fees were already nearly zero so what effect other than marketing will this have? Or is that basically the whole point?

I'd like to see Sui be the USDT/USDC blockchain of choice. Currently it's Tron for USDT.
