For me personally, I would choose Gaelic. It's one of the major old languages I don't know and understand basically none of. Not the most practical language for me to know, compared to Spanish for example, Spanish is extremely practical to know because of what I do for work. But Gaelic? It's very difficult to learn, never mind become fluent in, so if I could choose one to magically just "know", it'd definitely be Gaelic for those reasons.
Even languages like Russian weren't all that difficult to grasp, you'd be surprised how many commonalities it shares with English, especially with how its grammar is structured. Once you understand the overall structure of learning a foreign language, they become easier to learn more over time.
Eventually, one day my goal is to be multilingual and an official polyglot. So far I'm 3/5 languages there—English, Spanish, and Russian (I'm still trying to master the Cyrillic alphabet, I don't use it daily like English or Spanish so it's taken me much longer than what I'd consider "normal"). I've found that speaking casually with friends so that they can correct you live is the best way to learn and understand any language and its subtle nuances. This is how I'm trying to master the gendered structure of Spanish, as it can be confusing at times, mostly in the heat of the moment where tensions can run high.
What about you guys? *Bonus points for answering the poll above.

I'd choose Polish, and you should have enough integrity not to post a poll in your thread.
I would like to learn Portuguese one of these days.

Why should he not have added a poll?

I can’t decide between spanish, deutsch and russian.
I’d pick German. I took some classes back in the day but dropped them. There are serious employment opportunities right know for German speaking software engineers in my area.
I'd go with Spanish. My two half sisters are both fluent in that and in English so I'd enjoy being able to communicate both. I understand quite a bit of it but I'm by no means even remotely fluent.
This signature is for sale.
Japanese so I can finally turn off those anime subtitles.
I would love to speak Spanish and Arabic. Arabic just for the confused faces, when i would order a Shawarma in Beirut (would just visit Beirut for this :D)
I’d learn Mandarin to play on Asian servers

If you're looking for the easiest to learn out of those three, it's definitely Spanish. Would be a good starting point for you.

Sounds like it's time you made a DuoLingo account! Not sure how good DL is for German, but I know it's great for Spanish.

Being able to understand and not speak it fluently is the most annoying part, that's where I'm at as well. I can speak it fairly decently since I use it almost daily at work, however I still struggle a lot with the gendered structure of Spanish. My co-workers will often tell me "you just called that dude a girl btw" or "you just addressed that abuela as a papa", stuff like that lol.

Mandarin is definitely tricky. I've had to translate it a few times at work and it's very complex to someone who has zero knowledge about it.

Many of my military friends can speak a fair bit of Arabic due to their time deployed, and whenever we game together and find arabs or muslims, they'll break out the Arabic and start blowing minds lol.

Ah, you're looking for the "Tamil" language. Extremely old, and known as the oldest spoken language. After that it's Greek, Hebrew, Sanskrit, and then finally of course, Latin.
