[QUESTION] Best Platforms to Sell Self-Developed Software

Hello everyone,

I'm looking to expand beyond my current sales channels and would appreciate some advice from people with experience in this area.

What are the best websites, marketplaces, forums, communities, or social media platforms for selling self-developed software? I'm interested in any legitimate platform where developers can showcase and sell their products.

I'd also appreciate any general advice, such as:
Which platforms have worked best for you?
Where do you find the most serious buyers? Are there any communities that are particularly active for software sales?
Any tips on promoting software and reaching a larger audience?

I'm open to any recommendations or personal experiences. Thanks in advance for your help 💯

Since when vibecoded apps are self-developed ?

That's almost long been the standard now. 90% of everything is vibe-coded now and everyone has become a self-styled coder.

A completely useless, irrelevant answer.
How can you say something like that? If you're making an unfounded assumption that everyone creates software solely with AI, perhaps because you're the first to do so

My statement is based on your previous thread regarding the OSINT, you can clearly tell that it's another AI slop.

Does it look like it's for sale to you?🤭🤭
To be consistent, I wasn't born yesterday; I've been programming for over 15 years. That said, I'm still waiting for helpful answers.

P.S. Don't get frustrated because people are stealing your "programming" job.

I'm curious about this as well. Can't wait to hear everyone's suggestions and experiences. Thanks for bringing this up!

After seeing your thread, nothing can convince me that you can code anything on your own without relying on AI. And no, I'm not frustrated about anything. I don't depend on what you call a "programming job" to earn a living, so don't worry about me :)

I'm certainly not trying to convince you. Honestly, I don't care what you think 🤭

To everyone else:
maybe this is one of the reasons why HF is in such a steep decline. This should be one of the few "safe" places where AI is still genuinely limited. AI won't develop RATs or other potentially dangerous software, so I'm convinced that most of the work shared here is still the result of people's effort, skills, and experience.

The problem is that many users end up leaving this forum because, instead of finding helpful and constructive replies, they're met with hostile or toxic comments from people who, rather than helping, respond out of frustration or jealousy. If the goal is to keep this community alive, it would make far more sense to support one another.

If things continue this way, people will simply move to other platforms where, as you said, everyone already uses AI for programming. And at that point, if you want to keep up, you'll have no choice but to use it too. The end result? All that will be left is what you call "AI slop," while this community slowly empties out until it eventually disappears.
