Online Identity

As most people are aware, everyone has a digital footprint, no one can be truly anonymous, but what are people's thoughts on having a fake online identity? Essentially being 'someone else online'.

You can fake your name and email easily enough. Mobile phones can be found cheaply, paid with cash, using a PAYG sim card with cash topped up credit, if you wanted to take it further, you could remove the cameras, switch the device off when not in use and don't bring it home (find somewhere to hide it when finished). You could have a dedicated laptop for browsing with a privacy based OS like Tails, or anything other than Windows/Mac. You can get a VPN with crypto and only ever use that laptop with that VPN. Yes I know there'll still be a link to you with the ISP but most people fall under the radar for anyone needing to contact the ISP to find out your details. Even pictures could be generated with AI. You could actively go out of your way to change the way you interact with anything digital, change your typing speeding, how fast you move your cursor etc.

Rather than trying to be anonymous, why can't we just create a second persona for anything digital?
I mean, isn't that what we do here or aliases when making accounts online?

I know you mean legit digital identity, but there is no reason why not simply put.

You can't anymore, more and more the devices you use have black boxes built into them that it records what you do.
It helps Microsoft and other companies to monitor you. They're now using AI to track you. open AI is working on making it default
install on all computers, smart phones and smart tvs. The future is where AI will know everything about you and will snitch on you to the police.
They will also give your info to major companies to their marketing AI agents to figure out what to show you that might get you to buy stuff.

Even, your ISP is using AI to figure out best routing choices and also to spy on what you're doing on their networks.

Also your ISP can now use your router to spy inside your home using wifi signals. They can see who is inside the house and how many and figure out who's who without you knowing.

There's no longer a thing called being anonymous anymore. The only way to be anonymous is to make your own devices from scratch that is the only way to stay anonymous because commercial products are moving towards spying on every aspect of your life.

Yeah but what I'm getting at is if all those devices are linked to your fake identity then it's irrelevant if that identify is being tracked. The only thing hard to use fake id on is the ISP but again, if you tunnel all your traffic through a VPN then all the ISP can see is that your on a VPN?

The mobile phones you can easily pay with cash but the issue is that it's not 100% anonymous. They ask for you home address and you need to present
a drivers license. Some places have machines and some use uv light to check for a valid drivers license. They use that info to put it into the computer system. That way if you did a crime the cops can trace who bought the stuff. Same goes with gift cards.

Event if you use Tails OS... the hardware you use is spying on you. The manufactures are moving from software based tracking to hardware based tracking.
There's a lot of new circuits in newer devices that help the government and police track you down. There's no more 100% being anonymous those days are over. The only way you can be is if you made an electronics device 100% yourself either by making your own chips or buying old outdated chips. Even if you do this they can still track you when you use the internet. So, at least they will know where the person used the internet and that is about it. They won't know 100% who did it but it narrows it down to where the person accessed the internet from and if there's cameras near by.

In this day and age there's no 100% anonymous. If you think you can then you're dumb and out of touch with reality. It's getting harder every day to hide your identity.

Yeah, but what you don't understand is that it's not 100% anonymous. If you do any crime online the cops and the feds can trace it and find you. The new tech that is coming out is using AI to help them trace and make finding people easier to arrest. My point your ISP, phone provider will know who you are. If they don't they can't provide you internet. Countries are clamping down on the internet. There's more and more control. They're going to use AI to make it easier to trace swatting calls. accurately by networks. The routers in the internet will use AI to monitor and communicate where packets came from.
This is what is coming around the corner.

You cannot be anonymous online. What you said is good enough for online privacy. However, if someone wants to sue you or take you to court. Even if you use 20,000 fake accounts. They will trace it back to your internet provider and find out your real details and make an arrest with your real name.

My point even if you say well you mean just for surfing the internet. My point again is how hard does someone want to know who you really are. The hackers and other bad actors can easily figure out your identity all they have to do is hack your vpn provider and find out where you're dialing from. It's not something easy but vpn's are nothing more then a bump in a road. It just slows someone down trying to find who you're. This is just the general public.
The hackers would ten see where you're dialing from then hack your ISP and get your details from their database. Even though they can do this. They will be caught why? because everything you do right now is tracked. It doesn't matter if you use 20,0000 fake names with fake ids with fake picutres made by AI. The issue is the internet networks they're monitoring more to prevent hacks and if someone is hacked they want to trace things to find the people that did it this includes people in other countries. The U.S.A is working on using the CIA to spy on other people outside the U.S.A and work with the FBI on finding criminals in other countries. This is how they get put on a list and this list is to ban them from the U.S. and any country that works with the U.S.A.
That is how one hacker got caught. He used proxies and vpns to a website he owns. He flew to spain for vacation and thought the FBI didn't know his identity. They knew but when the thought they were dumb. He flew on vacation to spain and as he landed he was put into hand cuffs.

The FBI and other governments don't go running after you. They wait until you make mistakes which is you going to them without realizing it. They already know your name, where you live, what you're doing online and who you're talking to and where you travel too. Trust me the CIA and FBI know this behind closed door. They can't do anything legally until you do something stupid. Then they grab you.

So, my point is that if anyone wants to know who you're bad enough they can figure it out easily. It's not hard but it's not fast. It's a slow process but depends how much you pissed off the other person. That determines if you get caught or not.

So ultimately, it comes down to using someone else's wifi connection 😁.
Since I'm not a blackhat I couldn't care less about all those extra steps in anonymity. I'm more concerned with how my data is scraped and sold off for the advertising industry. We should all be.

I think most people online try to be something or someone they're not.

Yes, and making your own computer. If you build your own computers meaning make the chips, make the board etc.
Then you can be 100% anon if you use that device and hack someone else internet and use that as the starting point.
Then you create fake accounts. That's the only way.

What you suggested is the only way you can be somewhat anon using commercial devices and your own internet.
It's just that it's not 100% anon.

I really feel like most people around you, like regular ass people, do not have the capacity to find much about you online
