Daybreak Blue is an OpenAI initiative designed for cybersecurity professionals and researchers, providing AI capabilities with tailored guardrails for legitimate defensive security work. It aims to support tasks such as malware analysis, threat hunting, vulnerability research, incident response, and security investigations, while maintaining safeguards against malicious use.
Since I'm on HF I've always been into cyber security stuff, and when ChatGPT came out I've always been into the same thing. So after few years I've received a "Daybreak Blue" accreditation, which allows me to go into things such as :
- log analysis
- malware analysis
- vulnerability code
- reverse engineering
Next step would be running audits with Codex on my homelab, anybody here having a Daybreak blue access and have some ideas to share ?
Honestly this is the first time i ever heard about this, sorry cant help, but it sounds cool as heck

Yeah it's definitively cool, as I've been always been on the good side of hacking the rail guards are tailored, I can even ask how black hat stuff work and ChatGPT will reply.
daybreak blue can be obtained by anyone , you dont need to be into the cyber security field at all, its just kyc + having hardware wallet as auth(yubikey, enforced since 1th october)
and tbh, they pretty much nerfed the lower refusals from daybreak blue now.
what would be special to test it with, is daybreak red if you had it, or the red version of anthropic which is also available to governements/special organizations .

Oh, I didn't know anyone could have it, I thought it was based on how you used ChatGPT for a while. I saw Daybreak Red but it seems to be available only for few people, you can apply but it's way more difficult to get it
EDIT : just check on their website https://help.openai.com/en/articles/2000...r-overview

i mean daybreak blue is easy, for individuals, real easy to get access to.
didn't you get access as soon as you applied?
my processs was smooth/automated tbh.
but if you dont know what to do w it, then you dont even need it.
but they nerfed it on many tasks. i genuinely believe its in most case better to use astra and reframe your messages to hide bad intent than use their daybreak blue toggle feature...

I didn't apply, I've just received a message telling me I have now access to Daybreak Blue
As I've said, I'm already using it for different things, such as log analysis, code review, malware analysis, and other things, I was just looking for new ideas or things I didn't think about yet
I see, but I've never used ChatGPT for bad intent, and I'm not into such things. I can ask it how black hat stuff work (in order to understand), it will reply most of the time actually. Of course if I ask it to make me a ransomware it will not, but at least it will explain be the different steps / mechanisms on a ransomware and can also make pieces of code
