The driver, a 34‑year‑old woman from Garden City is believed to have had a child playing soccer nearby, though not on the field where the crash occurred, Wichita Police Chief Joe Moses said during an Oct. 17 press conference.

According to a police news report, the woman “was subsequently released pending the results of toxicology testing and a mechanical examination of the vehicle.”

“No charges have been filed at this time,” the Wichita Police Department added, noting that investigators are still working to determine what led to the crash.

Moses confirmed that at least 11 people were taken to local hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to severe. The injured included a 5‑year‑old girl and boy, two 8‑year‑old boys, a 9‑year‑old girl, and three women and two men between the ages of 28 and 68.

A lot of families and children were on the field when the truck drove through, witnesses said.

An attendee told CNN affiliate KWCH he was with his family when a black pickup truck jumped the curb and drove onto the field. Two people also described hearing a loud noise at the time.

They did. They let her go while they investigate further. They must have failed to get enough proof to hold her. Apparently they have no video footage of the incident I guess just because it's out in big field in Wichita, Kansas? She has been released from custody without charges pending further investigation. She allegedly killed a man and a six year old boy and injured.
Ten other people were injured in a case that caused horror well beyond Wichita. Police said the injured included five children: two girls ages five and nine, a five-year-old boy, and two boys age eight.

The rest of those hurt were women aged 28, 59 and 65, as well as men aged 32 and 68, police said. Those 10 victims had wounds that were considered traumatic but not life-threatening, police said.

Police also said that an 11th person, a 61-year-old woman, experienced medical complications from the shock although she was not injured by the vehicle.

The woman had two children in her truck that as now witnesses. This is so fucking crazy and actually much harder to even imagine than a shooting.
