[C#] Are you gay virus (Kinda)

it's not a virus if it don't replicate it self. i've said it so many times and i say it again it's NOT a virus
Damn I can't use this, that is already my background and I play that song on loop all day.

what if it puts itself in the startup of the computer and crashes it everytime the computer starts up?

would that not be considered a virus?

or what if it reads the start and the end of a harddrive extremely fast and breaks the needle of the harddrive in a few minutes?
is that also not a virus?

a virus doesnt need to replicate itself to be a virus.

or would you call a program that oblitterates a computer's hardware just a program??

NO NO AND NO
a virus replicates itself to random sectors on your drive.... thats what makes it a virus
if it copies itself to startup then it's basically doing the same as many legit softwares are.
and if it crashes the computer each startup then thats called "malicious activity" witch is considered being a piece of malware MALWARE and NOT a virus

then what do you call a trojan virus?
ahh fine...
i guess they are also called trojan malaware... :(

Have you ever heard of hmm I don't know, doing it yourself? 😧

Its a long shot I know, but you could give it a shot. 😅

DUDE a trojan horse makes itself run as a administrator and allows the hacker to comprise the computer trough the piece of malware known as a trojan horse (altough theres different variants of a trojan they all have one thing in common - they make themself run as a administrator without the user vertifieng it)

"As stated above, the term "computer virus" is sometimes used as a catch-all phrase to include all types of malware, even those that do not have the reproductive ability."
from wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_virus

why make the english language so specific? its not ment to be specific...
otherwise girls wouldnt be so confusing :P

wrong again... a virus is a malware type just like a
trojan
spyware
rootkit
and so on....

if you want to refer to any malicious activity you say "malware"

Code
The term "virus" is also commonly but erroneously used to refer to other types of malware
what hes saying is that people commonly mistake a virus for malware... they switch the two words up and call viruses malware when it's infact that malware is any type of malicious activity

Malware - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wikipedia Wrote:Malware includes computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware, dishonest adware, scareware, crimeware, most rootkits, and other malicious and unwanted software or program.

you obviously lack english skills, since you failed to read the part about how the term virus is basically used to describe programs that intentionally do bad stuff to your computer.

for example, c99 shell shows up as a trojan virus on my virus scanners, yet it doesnt self replicate.
"Malware, short for malicious software, is software designed to secretly access a computer system without the owner's informed consent." from wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malware

doesn't that basically state that every program on everyone's computer is malaware since we technically have no idea what ever program is doing to our computers.

you obviously have a lack of logic
Quote:c99 shell shows up as a trojan virus on my virus scanners

dumbass trojans and viruses are two different types of malwares
if a shell turns up as a trojan virus (witch it wont) then it means it contains characteristics of these types of malware.
my english may fail at the moment but your logic is completly fucked up if you can't understand something as simple as that

edit:
you may be reading the text on wikipedia but you're forgetting to read between the lines (UNDERSTANDING THE TEXT!)

hey "dumbass"
how many times do i have to quote it,

"As stated above, the term "computer virus" is sometimes used as a catch-all phrase to include all types of malware, even those that do not have the reproductive ability. " from wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_virus

this is not a debate about logic, its a debate about the english language, and when it comes to the language, it's not about what's right and wrong, it's about commonality. And since programs that are intended to do harm are most commonly called viruses, than they are viruses since the definition of the word is not the same as your ohhh soo flawless dictionary.
