Baccano! (バッカーノ！ Bakkāno!, Italian ruckus)

WHAT?!

Baccano is a Japanese light novel series written by Ryohgo Narita and illustrated by Katsumi Enami. The series, often told from multiple points of view, is mostly set within a fictional United States during various time periods, most notably the Prohibition-era. It focuses on various people, including alchemists, thieves, thugs, Mafiosi and Camorristi, who are unconnected to one another.

PLOT!

Aboard the ship Advenna Avis in 1711, a group of alchemists summon a demon in the hopes of gaining eternal life. The demon gives them an elixir of immortality and the method of ending their existence, by "devouring" one another, and grants the summoner Maiza Avaro the formula of the elixir. Maiza and most of the alchemists decide that no one else must become immortal; only Szilard Quates opposes. The next night, the alchemists begin to disappear, devoured by Szilard. Realizing the threat posed by staying together, they scatter across the globe.

ANIME:

A 16-episode anime series directed by Takahiro Omori and produced by Brain's Base and Aniplex was adapted from the light novels. The episodes describe the events spanning from 1930 to 1932 in a non-linear fashion, including the recreation of the immortality elixir, the hijacking of the Flying Pussyfoot, Eve's hunt for her brother and the gang war between the Gandor and the Runorata.

In my honest opinion, I think that Baccano! is very much underrated.
I honestly loved every second of it and think that people should watch it more!
What are you opinions on this?

Have a great day,

Baccano! is my all time favorite anime, and its extremely underrated. Its also one of the few anime that I actually bought. I wish there was more good fan art, and wallpapers of the series though.

I know right!
Too bad it's a short anime.
It'd be cool if it was just a bit longer.

I liked its length, it was easy to watch it all in one sitting. And watching Baccano! in one sitting is like a extreme orgasm. I know nothing about the light novels, but if the light novels had more good story to it, then I would say they should make it longer.

Yeah, I remember hearing about it for the first time and thinking, "I sounds like total BS, but I'll give it a try anyway.."
And now I'm totally in love with it!
Hahaa, thanks for commenting.

Sounds amazing, I want to watch it. I read the quotes in OP's post and this scares me, "the hijacking of the Flying Pussyfoot."

The Flying Pussyfoot is the name of a train, and you should watch it as soon as possible.
