[TuT] Free VPN for RATs (and more) with proXPN | No more Port-Forwarding

Free VPN for RATs (and more) with proXPN | No more Port-Forwarding

by beck030

This tutorial is a "Step-by-Step Guide" to install a free Virtual Private Network and how to use it with a No-IP.org DynDNS Host. Using this method, you dont need to be worried about Port-Forwarding anymore.

What you will need
  • proXPN Basic

  • A No-IP.org Account

  • No-IP.org Dynamic Update Client

Step 1 - Download and install proXPN Basic

- Get the proXPN client here: http://proxpn.com/download.php

- Select "proXPN Basic (bandwidth limited to 1,000 kbps)" and create a new account. You will need the account later on, so dont use a fake E-Mail.

- Download and start the installer. The proXPN installer will create a new network adapter which will be used for the Virtual Private Network.

- Start the proXPN client right after the setup is finished. Login with your account and click on "connect". This connects you to the Virtual Private Network. You will then have (at least) 2 IPs. The IP of your ISP and the VPN IP.

Step 2 - Create a No-IP.org Account and a DNS-host

You can skip this step if you already have a account and DNS-host at No-IP.org.

The VPN IP you get from proXPN is a dynamic IP so still need a dynamic DNS Service for your RAT-servers.

- Go here to create a No-IP.org account http://www.no-ip.com/newUser.php

- Then log in with your account and click on "Add a host".

- All you need to add a new DynDNS-host is a hostname and the VPN IP. You can name the host however you want.

- To find out your VPN IP open your proXPN client. Your client has to be connected.

- Now click on "Create Host" and you are done with this step.

Step 3 - How to use the No-IP.org Dynamic Update Client with your VPN IP

As i already mentioned the VPN IP you get from proXPN is a dynamic IP. Dynamic means it keeps changing and needs to be updated at No-IP.org. The No-IP.org Dynamic Update Client does this automatically.

Download the No-IP.org Dynamic Update Client here: https://www.no-ip.com/downloads.php

- Download and run the installer. Then start the application and log in with your No-IP.org account. In the Hosts-list select the Host you just created and click on "save"

- Now we have to make sure that No-IP.org updates the right IP. To do so open "File > Preferences". Go to network adapter dropdown-list and select the network adapter of your virtual private network. Then click on OK.

The No-IP.org Dynamic Update Client will now automatically update the DynDNS-Host if your proXPN VPN IP changes. Check the "Troubleshooting / F.A.Q." section of this tutorial if your client wont update your VPN IP.

How to use the VPN IP with my RAT Servers

First of all you dont use the proXPN VPN IP, since it is dynamic and will change. You have to use a DynDNS-host. Most of you guys should already know that. I described how to create and use a DynDNS-host in steps 2 and 3 of this tutorial.

Since this tutorial explains how to use a proXPN VPN IP with a DynDNS service and not how to use a DynDNS with the RAT tool of your choice, i dont want to get too deep into the RAT-server setup thing. There are plenty of great tutorials for RAT-server setups around on HF.com.

One thing i want to mention is, that it should be no problem to relocate the IP of your DynDNS you used on your running RAT-servers to a proXPN VPN IP. Escpecially if you use a DynDNS by No-IP.org. In that case use your No-IP.org Dynamic Update Client like in step 3 of this tutorial.

Just dont forget that the proXPN VPN IP are not static but dynamic.

Do i really need no Port Forwarding? And why not?

No, you really dont need Port Forwarding. I already tested it.

The reason why this works without Port Forwarding is the way how the proXPN private virtual network works.

All traffic that is sent trough their VPN get encrypted. The incoming traffic uses SSL protocol which is port 443 and is decrypted by the proXPN Basic client.

Troubleshooting / F.A.Q.

The No-IP.org Dynamic Update Client wont update the VPN IP?

-If you see something like this, something went wrong:
Spoiler (Click to View)

In that case make sure that ...
  • ... you selected the right network adapter at "File > Preferences"

  • ... your proXPN Basic client is connected.

If the No-IP.org Dynamic Update Client still wont update the VPN IP, reboot your system. Remember that the proXPN Basic setup created a new network adapter. This maybe causes some trouble.

Feel free to ask your questions in this thread or send me a pm.
I'm doing this when I get on my PC. thank you <3 nohomo

AMAZING TURORIAL.
- Thanks alot mate. Very usefull for dummies like me :p
Sighs You want PROXpn people to knock on your door? This is not recommended if you want to get caught. They keep logs.

Yet I do use it for things, and I make an excuse it's just torrents since it's a very SMALL connection thing....

Just don't use it for big stuff like 100+ bots.
Thanks for this tutorial....splendid work!
This already got released by one of my friend on the forum... next time please use the search button...
I doubt people from PROxpn would come knocking on you're door. If you're that worried, find a VPN service on HF itself that users provide without logs. I'm currently using nVPN(dot net) and they help with port forwarding if needed. $2/month isn't bad.
I will give it a try for sure ! :D
So what port do we select when creating our RAT server? 443?
Okay for the many questions. I used this guide, and it was great! I can now RAT people. Fuck portforwarding. All you gotta do is set everything up and then you can listen in on any port you want to. I suggest 82 or 100 :P. Thanks for this guide!
If I check if my ports are open after I set this up, should they be open, or what? Because I just checked on canyouseeme, and it says the connection timed out.
thanks for the posting bro..nice tutorial
I've been using this 1 year ago ! :D cheers !

Happy New Year !

basically it doesnt matter which port you use. just make sure that the port of your choice isnt already in use. 443 is not an option - it is used by the https protocol.

further you should use a port above the "well known ports" which are 0 through 1023. but that isnt really necessary. there are unassigned ports in that range too.

go here to find a list of used ports search for "unassigned": http://www.iana.org/assignments/port-numbers

some examples:

# 914-988 Unassigned
# 1001-1009 Unassigned

yes the ports should be open. using this method you will need a active port listener to test it with canyouseeme.org. which RAT do you use and which port did you set as listening port on your RAT Server?

on cybergate go to "Control Center" > "Options" > "Select listening ports". make sure that you added the listening port of your RAT server under "Active ports" and that you have set the right connection password. after that go to "Control Center" > "START". now your cybergate client is now listening to the ports you added to the "Active ports" list.

try canyouseeme.org again. if you still get a connection timeout you should check if your no-ip.org DynDNS is set to your current VPN IP.

open a windows console and ping your no-ip.org DynDNS. example:

> ping yourname.no-ip.org

if the resolved ip is not your current VPN IP, you have to flush the windows DNS cache. run this command in a windows console:

> ipconfig /flushdns

after this it should work. if it doesnt, feel free to ask for help.
ive done it all correct, but i still get connection refused on canyouseeme.org, can anyone help please ?
