Afternoon all,
As of 8:15 AM this morning, it'd been a month since I was banned, under the suspicion of account compromise. So, the purpose of this thread is to give my account of what happened back then (for those of you interested). I know that several scam reports have popped up against my name in regards to the issue, so I'm hoping to clear that up now. 😉
Okay, so a month ago, I awoke on my holidays at about 11 AM, as you do. I made breakfast and did a few things before going on my computer. Before I even went on Hack Forums, I was confronted by one of our malware removalists, Tha Sneak, through MSN. I was also bombed by about three other offline messages all claiming the same thing. Tha Sneak, knowing I'd been compromised, asked for a ComboFix log, a Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware log, and an OTL log to check to see if I had been infected with some form of stealer.
Turns out my ComboFix log was the cleanest he'd seen in a long time. I was not infected in any way. So, I went on Hack Forums to see what all the fuss was about to see that I'd been banned under the suspicion of being compromised, which I was. Not knowing how the hacker gained my password, Tha Sneak relayed information from Hack Forums to be via MSN so I could learn about the situation I'd awoken to.
All I know is, from what I've been told, I scammed two people using the MSN alias of '[email protected]' or something like that. My e-mail address is [email protected] and my MSN address is [email protected], so already I was asking some questions. Why would the hacker have gained access to my account and not my MSN? Is there a bug within Hack Forums' MyBB software? Or had I been infected months before this event?
The hacker had given out some negative reputation to people also, which is another thing that had me suspicious. I'd told Burn Notice about a week before the hacking that I'd noticed a negative reputation given to someone through my account, but I couldn't recall issuing it.
Not fully knowing what's happened in the past month, I just thought I'd clear that up. For those of you who were scammed or neg' repped by me, please send me a PM and I'll do my best to compensate.
Right now, I hope to continue my training in the HJT Team and settle back in. If anyone has any information in regards to this or any recent news, I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks,
Malware Boss
