Sleep time question

Hi. I have C++ crypter source and I used

for ( int d = 0; d < 5000000; d++ )
{
int x = 1;
int y = x;
delete &x;
delete &y;
}

made my crypter fud again. Problem is crypted file only run in xp and not on the windows 7 64bit. Any good C++ coder know why? Also, is there other sleep time code I can use to run in windows 7 64bit? Thank in advance.
Sleep()

too short
way too short

With the code he wants to bypass antiviruses that use a virtual machine to scan files.
Those antiviruses ignore the Sleep() function and it would be detected.
I just wanted to point out that surely it's bad practice to delete variables that were allocated on the stack!!

Yeah, really didn't get why he did that.
