So I have been wandering the graphics tutorial forum and I have not seen any threads on copyrights. I was thinking it would be pretty cool if I made one. It would be a great contribution. So I decided to make it. Anyways, this is my second tutorial on graphics so please go easy on me. 😝 Enjoy!
What’s a Copyright?
Most of you know what it is but don’t know what it is. You know the basic concept but not the full formal definition. Some of you may know but for those of you who don’t….
A Copyright is the legal right bestowed upon a person/company. So, the copyright holder has the rights to publish, modify, display, prepare derivative works, or transport the creation (as long as it does not have any issues with legal agreements). It is pretty much a legal ownership of something.
I put that together myself. Hope you liked it. It should clear up any confusion you had. Now what can a copyright protect? It most commonly protects the following:
-pictures
-music
-literary works
-architectural works
-recorded sounds
-sculptural works
It can protect other works as well.
How do I get a Copyright?
Technically, your work is instantly copyrighted when you make it (the works you have made 100% originally). So there is no need to worry. This rule applies to 150 countries. It`s not hard to prove that something `s yours. But sometimes it`s hard to prove. You can get a legal copyright online. Make sure you use official sites.
Can I get a Free Copyright?
The answer is no. But you can back up your work with lots of evidence by using free copyright providers. The best ones online are:
