My new kitten i recently just got for a girl off craigslist,when we showed up they had an outside cat it looked like the mother but i wasn't sure. Before i even reached the door she opened the door with my kitty he was so cute,Then we wen't in side and she was holding him. After we bought him for $20 bucks we left, on the way home we stopped at walmart to get some kitty litter,and my mom went inside and i stayed in the car with the kitten. I unraveled him in the towel and started to play with him when i noticed there was something moving on him, i checked and there were little fleas. so pissed off the lady sold me a fleabag i emailed her saying it had fleas "never got a response". Well since he was only eight weeks there was not much i could do for him almost all the treatment's the cat had to be at least 12 weeks. So i did the easiest way i gave him a bath in dawn dish washing liquid, i rember my sister telling me it was a good thing to do if it was a small cat. So i wetted him in the tub fast as soon as the fleas get wet they go for the head "the dry place", so once you get the kitten wet put some dawn on your hands and put your hands around the kitten's neck "Very softly you don't want to kill it" and get the neck covered with sud's " The fleas can't swim past the soap. leave the soap on for 3-4 minutes it will drown the fleas. rinse you'r cat's coat and you should see dead fleas starting to fall off i did this for three day's. But make sure you have a good conditioner to wash the coat with after wards other wise the skin will dry out and you will have to take it to the vet.
Another way you can do it is if you cat is over 8 weeks old and weight's more than two pounds " almost all cat's over 7 weeks weigh 2 pounds "
you can buy this stuff called Capstar i got some last night for my kitten at petco and it does have a hefty price of 42.99 but it comes with 4 tablets, that kill all the fleas on you cat in 6 hours it worked really well now my cat is flea free the next day.
But you will need to spray your house with Flea and Egg killer i snagged some Hart's from petco for 17.99 and sprayed all my carpets and bed's " you will need to wash all your pillows and blankets in the house ". you'll also need to vacume all your carpets before you spray.
this will also work for dog's too The dawn and the capstar will work fine for puppies and dogs, Actually the capstar is made for dogs 1-25 pounds and then they have stuff expacily made for dog's.
