[TUT] How i colorize in photoshop [TUT]

How to color things (not only drawings)

Hey guys, never contributed in here before ^_^

So what i am going to show you, is my way of coloring, i have not seen an tutorial on this yet.

Work done with this technique:

(Note, theese were both black/white before, but i have deleted the source images, i did not draw any of them)

So lets get started, first off find a drawing, or anything else, you can change everything this way ;)

Ill take this:

Ok, so what we do, is taking the Quick mask tool (q)

And draw some of it, i usually use a soft brush (opacity 100).
Just change the size, according to what you are doing.

So, ill start doing the guys hair.

Ok, its not perfect, but now it looks like this:

Now, take the quick mask off, take the rectangular marque tool tool(M), right click -> select inverse, then press ctrl + c and make a new layer, then press ctrl + v.

Now you have a layer with the hair:

Now, go to image -> adjustment -> hue/saturation. change whatever you want (REMEMBER TO TICK COLORIZE:

As you can see, mine isnt really that good, so ill do the same as when i masked the hair, just with the other parts, that are not masked...
Ok it did not go too well, but i havent really taken that good time it, please bear over with my ^_^

Ok, so next step, ill do it with the face (basically the same way):

Now some of you may think:
"OMG, he overcovered the hair, and forgot the ear", but that is not the case...
The head is under the hair, so its a layer beneath, and the ear is above the hair, so its a layer above.
That means that the ear must be perfectionized, and the face can cover the hair, because it has no effect :D

so, ill give it an hue/saturation:

Ok, so now the head is ready (except the ear), pay attention to the layers.

Now for the ear ^_^

Basically its the same, as everytime i did color another part.
Quick mask -> select inverse -> copy/paste -> hue/saturation.

Ok, so now the boy is done, and i think you know what to do at the girl, what i did now was thinking:
They dont need more instruction, so i just made the background black, and here is the outcome:

Not the best, and i am sure some of you can do it better if you take some time ;)
