I've always loved RATs but lately i haven't been able to use them because my router is giving me so many issues. here's the breakdown
Hardware:
Linksys WRT54Gv5 loaded with the latest beta DD-WRT
What I've tried:
Disabling Block Anonymous WAN Requests (ping)
Disabling Filter Multicast
Disabling Filter WAN NAT Redirection
Disabling SPI Firewall
Turning on UPnP without manually port forwarding
Turning on UPnP with manually port forwarding
Turning off UPnP with manually port forwarding
DMZ my LAN IP
Connection PC directly to moden
What worked:
Connecting PC directly to modem
The only thing that I can think of to try is to stop using beta dd-wrt and downgrade to latest stable version. However, uTorrent has no problem with port forwarding. Nor do any other programs I use. I hate to be dependent on ProXPN. Lately I've just been logging into my neighbors wireless network to mess with my slaves (they have FiOS).
Any suggestions? If I was using standard Linksys firmware, I can see how the router might suck. But given the fact that I have the awesome dd-wrt 🙂 i feel it should work fine.
