[iOS 4] How to solve "INVALID IPA" with Installous 4

Hi ppl,

there's a little tutorial on how fix INVALID IPA when you use INSTALLOUS 4.4.2 [not written by me, taken from http://jaxov.com/2011/04/how-to-fix-inst...ios-4-3-2/ ]

Here is a quick tip for those who are getting Invalid IPA: Installation Failed error while installing cracked apps from Installous 4.4.2. To fix this error, all you need is to uninstall previous installations of AppSync and then re-install AppSync from Hackulous repo. To check if you have installed AppSync from a repo other than Hackulous, just follow this simple guide.

Note: I am assuming that you have already installed Installous 4.4.1 on your iDevice which is running iOS 4.x.x. If you haven't installed Installous 4.4.1 yet, follow our step-by-step guide here.

Open Cydia on your jailbroken iDevice and tap on the Search tab at the bottom. Type AppSync in the search field and hit ths Search button. From the search results, you can see if you have any previous installations of AppSync. Just choose the one infront of which you see the ✓ sign.

Once removed, tap on the Manage tab at the bottom followed by a tap on Sources section. You will find a list of stock and other Cydia repos in this section. Scroll down and tap on the Hackulo.us repo. Here you will see different versions of AppSync app. If you are on iOS 4.x.x, choose AppSync for 4.0+ and if you are on iOS 3.x.x, choose AppSync for OS 3.1.

After installing AppSync, do not forget to reboot your iPhone. Open Installous app and try to install any IPA. Hopefully this time you will not get any Invalid IPA file error.
Good initiative for all those who will have this problem, useful tut' with pictures, serious job.
Thank you for your feedback :)
Look! It's another douchebag stealing apps! Colon capital "O".
Nice guide mate, one of my friends had this problem and ended up getting so frustrated he did a complete restore
The problem is AppSync: your friend should be read this guide before restoring ;)

I have clearly reported the source of the article.
Hm... there isn't any Appsync for OS 4.x for me.
Any ideas?

Did you add the "cydia.hackulo.us" source ?
As xCerberus said, you have to add http://cydia.hackulo.us as repo on your Cydia app ;)

Than perform the search ;)
You should mention that there is a slim chance that the file got corrupted along the way, and tell people to try a different DL link.

Yes, I can see the 3.1 and 3.2 but not 4.x...
There is a small possibility some people are installing apps that requires a higher firmware then they have.
It happens.
Also try to delete one or two apps in the downloaded section if you have more than 6 ipas downloaded.
