Back to school CMD fun [TUT]

Hey guys! I know that school just started and I also know how boring this can be, so I have come here to try and make your day a bit more fun using a computer.

Alright first off if you don't know how to open the command prompt, here are a few ways to do it.

One way is to use the task manager if your schools computers gives you access to it.
Quote: Do everything in order.
Ctrl+Alt+Delete > Open task manager > Users > File (New Task... Run) > Type in command.com > hit enter.

Another way is through notepad... most school computers have this.
What you frist need to do is find and open up notepad. After you've done that type this in.
Quote: @echo off
command.com
@echo off
After this is done, go and save what you just typed in as anything.bat (IMPORTANT, make sure you save it as .bat or else it won't run).

The first thing you are going to want to do to be able to do all of these commands is gain admin access. To do this, type this in.
Quote: start control userpasswords2
Find your username and click Properties, then click on the Group Membership tab and select admin.

Alright so now that you have command prompt open and you have admin. Here are some cool tricks and things you can do on it.

First
Quote: shutdown -i

After typing in that, a small box will appear with a couple of options, most of them are pretty self explanitory, so I will skip to how you shut down a specific computer. First you need find the IP address of the computer you want to shut down. To do this you need to type into command prompt
Quote: net view
After doing this a group of names will pop up. Alls you have to do is pick a user and do this
Quote: tracert (user)
Now you have their IP. Go back to the little box that popped up from the shutdown command and do this. Click Add > Enter the IP address of the user you want to shut down. Now you are ready to shut down the comuter. Make sure all of the settings are right and click OK and let the computer do its magic!

Next we will send a message to every computer on the network! This is a very basic command, here it is.
Quote: msg * (message)
There, you just sent a message to the whole network for everyone to see!

Here is a quick CMD "proxy" that most of the time works for getting around the website block. This is also very quick and doesn't take to long to do. What you need to do is first find the IP address of the website you wish to go to by typing this in.
Quote: tracert (website name)
A list of IPs should appear, just copy the first IP address that appears and paste it in the address bar and you should be able to get onto that site!

Oh and by the way, if you ever want to clear everything on the command prompt because it gets to messy just type in,
Quote: cls

Lastly, if you ever get bored of the default white lettering in your command prompt just type in
Quote: color g
And then retype [quote[ color (color code) [/quote] and there! You have a new color that isn't so boring!

I hope I helped someone of their bordem in school! Please feel free to comment on how the TUT was! (First TUT)

Dude, i think I just came in my pants, amazing tutorial, but I suggest adding other alternatives so if one of the steps doesn't work.

Thanks! And thanks for the feedback! I will keep that in mind in my future tutorials. 🤗

This looks awesome xD
cmd isn't blocked at my school so I guess I can just go straight to the admin rights part and remote shutdown xD

Thanks! I agree it is pretty basic stuff, but it is meant to be for all of the people that are new to CLI

A easier way to do this is Ctrl+Shift+Esc

This method is older than Jesus, but thanks for sharing!
Pretty cool man I like it, but one question, would your school know that its you doing it? Like if you are signed into your school account
Only one thing I noticed is msg * (message) doesnt work anymore or at least windows 7 also when I try and do tracert then my own computer name it doesnt give me a IPv4, I think its giving me my IPv6, will it still work?
This is totally awesome! ;D Im really gonna try these at my school!
