How to protect my pc from Ddos ?

So I've been attacked recently, And I have no clue how to try to prevent this/protect my computer. Could someone who has experience give me some sort of tips or what to do ? Thanks in advantage.

Inform your ISP about that.Try to change ur ip or get hardware firewall :)
Thank you :). Are the any other things that I can do to make my protection more effective?
The only option you have is to get your IP changed. A hardware firewall is a waste of money because you're probably on a home connection which means that attacks will saturate the line regardless of a firewall behind it.

Hardware firewalls have there advantages and Disadvantages.
I personally use a free open source firewall at my house called Endian Firewall.

I just use an old Pc which has 2 Nics and it protects me from DDOS attacks, Filters Spam, Intrusion Prevention, VoIP/SIP support, Portscan Detection, SYN/ICMP Flood Protection, Anti-Spoofing Protection, DNS Proxy/Routing and alot more.

Its all opensource - free which makes it worth while.
