Making your hard drive unrecoverable

Well, I'm looking for a tool, that will deleted every piece of data, on your hard drive, and write it with 0's or make it unrecoverable from anyone, fbi, cia, nsa etc... I was suggested dban is there anything better?
There is a free program out there that does a 7 time wipe (one that i think DoD uses) which makes it 99.99% unrecoverable but i can not remember what it is called... May i suggest Search button :)

could you tell me if you find it i really nead it.
May I suggest a hammer? Honestly, if at times you are so petrified about your data, you would be able to purchase new drives.

DBAN with 12 passes should do the trick for very unrecoverable data.
If you are really nervous, grind up your hard drive into dust. That's what companies who have sensitive data on their hard drives but they get new computers do.

Physically Destroy it.
Unless you want to use it in the future. Then you pretty much can't do anything in the amount of time it seems you are talking about.

Edit-
Maybe try a program called TrueCrypt. It encrypts everything on your computer.
The only thing you can do immediately is psychically destroy it.
Look up something called "thermite". 🤝

In case you don't have time to fuck your HDD up. I recommend you find some form of disk encryption (PGP from Symantec, Truecrypt, etc.), you can use a virtual machine that is encrypted as well (using a different password than your host OS password) for all of your hacking needs, and most importantly - focus on never having the party van show up at your house! Secure your hacking - use a non-logging VPN, TOR, Pidgin with the OTR plugin, etc.

There are 3 rules that I like to follow:
  • Never brag about your hacking.

  • Never snitch on your accomplices if you do get raided.

  • Tell nothing, deny everything. If it is a computer crime you're in trouble for, it'll be pretty hard for them to prove that it was you using the computer to commit the offense - for all the jury \ judge knows, it could've been your 5 year old sister!

If you're interested in securing yourself online, try reading my tutorial. I spent a while on it and I think it might help you. 🤝

PS : my apologies for going so off-topic, I just think I know where you're heading with this question.
Truecrypt it, no one can crack that encryption (that I know of?).

Here is an article about Truecrypt being "cracked", if you search around you'll find quite a few articles about it. The only way that I know for sure that will bypass Truecrypt is bruteforcing - and that can be combated with a long (hopefully unique and generated) password.

If you have the money to spend, I recommend PGP by Symantec.

Thanks So Much Bro That Really Helped Out Damn
